Nungesser was a Democrat until about 10 minutes ago.
So was the President. And Louisiana Senator John Kennedy.

What Gov Landry SHOULD do is respond back with “Fine, Billy. Then I’m reinstating the Mid-Barataria Diversion Project”… which shouldn’t have been canceled in the first place.
frick both of them for getting this project cancelled.

It may not cause people to stop coming but it 10000% will hurt businesses that deal with tourism (and all businesses).
Just so people are aware, you can be illegally in the US and have permission to work. A lot of these workers at the hotels and restaurants have valid employment authorization, especially the big national chains with real HR departments. They have valid SSN's and show up in eVerify as having the legal ability to work. These sweeps have indiscriminately been picking people up, even those working legally.
So while "this is what you voted for" to have all the illegals deported, you have to realize you are being okay with major economic impacts.

Like record inflation that started...wait for it...
...before all the deportations?
Yeah friend, I think my conscience can handle this.

But letting criminals walk free is perfectly “fine”

What does inflation have to do with deportations? There is more to the economy than inflation.

Maybe this state and that city should work on other revenue streams instead of depending so heavily on tourism?
And if we are really concerned about tourism, how about at least trying to do something about crime, trash, shitty roads and rampant corruption?

Sounds like someone is going to get some free money for a study to find out how much illegals spend on tourism in New Orleans.
Posted on 11/20/25 at 2:42 pm to ragincajun03
He's right. I notce that the Colonial Inn on I-59 in Amite used to be full by the evening with people hanging out on the balcony and maybe a grill or two. Now, it seems to have only a car or two outside.

How about the godamn garbage all over the place coupled with the terrible roads? Didn't Nungesser announce an alleged cleanup initiative not too long ago?
Does any liberal in govt, any where in the US care about it's citizens? Roads and infrastructure are awful almost everywhere, but we want to protect those who are here illegally

New Orleans has its lowest public image ever. Things have literally never been worse there.

Explain, with cites, how I am wrong. Or I can save you time and tell you I am 100% correct.

You could literally ask any city that usually benefit from Canadians visiting every year as well. They are legit scared of being detained when crossing the border.
