I have been back to LSU twice since I graduated 10 years ago.

I am admittedly out of touch with what is going on at LSU these days.

This topic makes me irrationally angry. We have free speech in this country, and our general populace needs to "man up" a little. We can't walk around in constant fear that what we say will somehow offend someone.

I'm offended on the daily by the crude actions (and words) of some of my fellow BR citizens. Am I going to the news about them? Trying to ruin their lives?

Further, how does the school address other infractions by student athletes? Do we have any football or basketball players who have ever been arrested? Gotten in physical altercations? Tested positive for drugs? I find it interesting that saying a word will get you in this much trouble. I guess every other student athlete is perfect!

Plus, language EVOLVES!! That was hammered into my head at LSU, of all places. Kids today use it as a term of endearment.

How about all the lsu football players listening to rap with that word in it and using it amongst themselves?

Less than 40 years ago, the American left was defending the rights of Judas Priest, Frank Zappa and Dee Snider to say and do controversial things. Now, they're leading the charge to destroy people's lives if they utter an "unforgivable" word.

This is the sad reality that we live in. The masses have been so brainwashed. The irony is that the vast majority of those that get upset about these things are white people.

It’s racist as hell to assume that black people are either:
- too stupid to understand context and intent of a person’s statement
- so irrationally sensitive to a word that the word itself has magical powers so that the mere utterance of it causes them distress

Sad that this story will take precedence over a murder of a current student right by campus.

It won't. People are only pretending to care about this story.

Good. Kick off every black from the sports teams that use the slang too.

I feel sorry for this girl. Throw in the fact she has an unusual name her life will be hell for a while.

When are we going to dismiss our fine young scholar-athlete African-American football and basketball players who drop the N word like garbage on an interstate?

It's most likely that she was also drinking in her dorm, and here's the kicker, there's video evidence of them doing it.

What if she just wasn't that good at tennis and had a history of doing some questionable things? This board loves to ponder those aspects of someone's life when they're a certain color but a white? Never.

White liberals are the most racist bunch in this country. Every bit of affirmative action is based on the general notion that the black man is somehow beneath the white man and must be saved. Why black Americans don't push back with this nonsense is beyond me.

“HouseMom angry that her white daughter cannot say the N word” would be a great headline.

Lester, why is it okay for black people to use the N word and white people cannot?

My daddy allowed both types of music- country and western. And not the pansy, soft-palmed, effeminate shite that passes for country today. Real country that talked about God, lovin your mother, and getting drunk after your marriage failed.

Don't think she is getting arrested for it.

She can continue to say it the rest of her life.
