It looks like we will not need all those administrators that they have added in the past 10 years. Time to cut the fat

No doubt. It’s going to be moved to the spring.

College football, basketball and baseball all going on at the same time will be sick though.

The point is to avoid all of the people going home just long enough To be exposed only to turn symptomatic back on campus. This by itself doesn’t imply anything about the plan for spring semester.

Not like there is really much material covered between thanksgiving and finals.

To be fair, would this really be such a bad thing?

They shortened on campus classes by like 3 weeks and I’m pretty sure 2 of those are dead week and finals week, anyway.

It's horrifying that people in charge of higher education are so stupid

Then why let them on campus to start the semester?

"The university is also updating fall course offerings to allow for proper social distancing, which may result in room changes and moving some additional courses online.

Decisions concerning residence halls, December commencement and campus events are forthcoming, university officials said."

LSU is going to sucker a lot of students into leases only to find out the Fall Semester will be all remote learning.

Unfortunately, the value of college degrees is declining faster than US citizenship

1) not as much point risk: if you are at home if you are going to get sick it’s unlikely to be timed with the start of the semester as opposed to everyone going to meet their entire extended family, many of whom had to travel to reach the gathering house.

2) they can’t justify charging that dorm and meal plan money that way, and they’ll lose tuition money to smaller community colleges because people don’t see the point to pay LSU money for online courses when they can get credit for cheaper.
