What in the world in that article pertains to social justice?

The very fact that cptautism immediately called me a SJW proves my point.

There’s are Mardi Gras moments with my daughter that I’ll cherish forever. And wish every parent would be able to share with their kids.

I can’t wait for her expose in the fall blowing the lid off alleged racism at Tigerland bars.

Everyone realizes that these are not her actual beliefs and she is just writing this garbage for clicks, right? And by visiting the site and becoming indignant you are doing exactly what she and the Reveille want.

It’s like responding seriously to an el gaucho or LucasP post.

Reveille columnists used to get paid a small amount for each column and that's probably still the case, so I don't think the clicks will benefit her personally. My guess is that after a brief period of excitement that someone actually paid attention to her column, she will regret it due to all the people that will mess with her.

On this site anything that anyone ever doesn't like or disagrees with is a SJW democrat, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with politics or social justice. It's TD's way of fighting stupidity with stupidity.

No, it's not. This isn't the same as putting Lou Holtz on television and him predicting Ole Miss will beat LSU in Tiger Stadium.

NO one knows this young lady and has nothing to go by. This article is not intriguing, either. If she had written an article about "why women make better lovers than men", she would have something. This? This is as trite as writing about how bad airlines and airport experiences stink or about "Don't go Trick-or-Treating without knowing your surroundings."

She'll get one more read for free. You are right about the next issue and that only...for now. If she writes about Valentines Day and its suckage, then pull the plug; otherwise, she better come up with something damn clever. I am not going to go out of my way to see what she writes, probably like most of us. This occasion did get her a LITTLE fame; however, the writing was subpar and trite.

And yet dozens of people have posted in this thread about it. It’s been linked on Facebook. You personally took the opportunity to type out four posts.

Easy there, her friend with first base benefits.

I am offended by her lackluster writing as much as I am the stupidity of the subject. But you're right...she's going to be known from now on. Shame on us, the reader, responder, and the LA native, for disagreeing with a 20-year-old, you titwillow. I personally want writing at newspapers to become good again.

And how is that a bad thing?

. If you are hellbent on experiencing Mardi Gras, consider going to another city that also celebrates it. Mobile, Alabama is the birthplace of Mardi Gras and throws some awesome parades, as well. Still not convinced that New Orleans Mardi Gras is a bad idea? Fine. Have fun wading through trash with the rest of the drunken city.

Agreed to an extent, yellowfin. BUT college's best writers can still outwrite 95 percent of us. I would like to think the Reveille, itself, is still a very competitive college newspaper...but, the ones who write the editorials should be uncanny and merciless and bait-hooking with a subject -- good or bad. And the 3 or 4 of them who get a chance to do an opinionated column instead of being some beat writer need to prove it early. Come correct or don't come at all. A hate piece on Mardi Gras is the same as a hate piece on McDonalds' service from their employees.
