Rousse seems like he has brains. All you idiots loved Tate. Feels like this board has been saying this for ages.

Haven’t visited LSU since 2011. I remember the area across that bridge being bad where the Walmart is, but outside of campus?

Come on….y’all exaggerate. No way it could spread that quickly to right outside campus gates.

Loyola in Chicago bought up property around the school and it helped clean up a lot of bad areas.

They need to do a lot more.

Didn't they do this already with the land on the other side of Chimes?
Look at the new band room complex and new apartments on that land.

Northside is gone. Should start buying up property on Burbank adjacent to the BEC. Only makes sense to have control of that

No, numbnuts, we just disliked him less than FKing.

Both were incompetent in their own, unique ways.

it’s right there on the home page of the OT.

No discussion on the hood takeover of LSU North gates?

Saw it now. Why don’t they just stand on campus? The entrance is right there.

Very surprised where the new dorm apartments ( WCA ) were located.

Nope. Tate knew where his bread was buttered. He got hired by a deep south flagship university in 2021 when critical theories were under fire. He wasn't going publicly implement or discuss the findings in his education research papers and risk drawing the ire of the alumni. The posters who liked him mainly cared about sports. My feelings were staunchly against his hire to cautiously neutral before he left.

I agree, but it is easier and cheaper for private individuals or companies to purchase the ground and donate it.

The "Bottoms" north of campus seem to defy redevelopment even though the homes and buildings are falling into ruin. The rot spreads. A large tract along Nicholson has sat vacant for decades. The Water Campus has already lost it promise.

LSU can't reverse decay and maybe should not try. By my count LSU has already failed to successfully develop 3 research parks: GSRI, CAM-D and Innovation Park. What remains of 2 are in the hood and one is hidden in the weeds behind Town Center.

When I worked at an architecture firm, I asked a similar question. It turns out that the title to most of those houses in the ghetto North of about Roosevelt were so twisted and screwed up, it makes even eminent domain difficult. That was pre-9/11. It's always been a dump.
