no one knows anything about who the buildings/streets are named after unless the wacko woke virtue signaling squad researches it and protests

That has always been a byproduct of a controlled narrative regarding history. It would make sense that people who don’t study this closely wouldn’t know who someone like Middleton was and how naming buildings after such people has been a byproduct of normalized white supremacy.

Didn’t hear he did this, that’s a huge move on his part

shite maybe these CRT people aren't that bad. But in all seriousness, I was worried that Tate would have LSU barreling down the path to becoming SJWU. I am pleasantly surprised to see he is taking a level-headed approach to diversity and inclusion issues. It may be all talk but I'm definitely more optimistic about my alma mater's future.

Can we all agree that Tate is 100 times better than F King's dumbass.

Well this just threw a big ole wrench in the OTs narrative now didn't it?
It’s a pleasant surprise so far. The main thing is to stop changing shite for the sake of appeasing the woke locusts. Wokusts. If you give into them at all they will swarm and devour everything.
If you give them nothing and just wait out their mad shrieking, they’ll soon move on to more fertile fields

There are 3 guarantees in life...Death, Taxes, and C on Z sullying up threads with dumbassery.

For it or Against it, i don't know where he truly stands. What I do know, is he does not want to preside over a university that is going to lose a shite ton of donations over something that is more petty than anything. I know of a few donors that have already started to withhold their donations due to "things the university is doing".This is his way to try and stop the bleeding.

Great, Tate—now change the library name back to Middleton.

Once you say no they move onto the next thing, I bet we don’t even hear much flak about his statements. I can’t imagine how much money and time could have been saved if the vocal minority crying to change had just been ignored.

A dead clock is right twice a day.
It’s still a dead clock.

When asked what he would have done instead of forming a renaming committee, Tate said he would have consulted experts on what effects building names with problematic histories have on the community.
The OT is seeing this guy as reasonable. I read the above quote and see a super politician. He isn't going to put his neck out. He is going to use Committees and Consultants and Experts to provide cover for himself. This dude is an opportunist who knows he is sitting pretty right now and he isn't going to do anything to endanger his own salary and position. Which could be a good thing for moderate thinkers.
But what I really want is a smart, capable guy at the top who is willing to do the RIGHT THING regardless of his personal interests. That ain't Tate.

This guy is a tough one to gauge. Supports CRT but then says this. Kudos to him

Of course not, between this, giving frats more freedom like tailgating back in the quad, and some other things he’s far from the devil this website was crying about
Yep. From the short tenure of his, he seems to understand the university and LSU's alumni base. Meanwhile F King couldn't have been more out of touch.
Let's see though.

I also saw that he never pushed for a black HC and told Woodward to go get your guy and he'll support him.

Bingo. And any acquiescence at all just attracts more and more of them, like sharks to blood.
Remember that University President who just threw them all out when they tried to stage that big sit in?
You smack them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper, tell them “NO!” And then ignore and isolate them. Don’t give them a foothold

“Can we all agree that Tate is 100 times better than F King's dumbass”
Gonna disagree… he is 100000000 times better than F King
He actually is a good hire and will look at improving the university as a entire package..

I really hope all the worst things happen to you. Your perpetual victim mentality surely must welcome that possibility as well.
