This. I was blown away as a freshman in '95 when I showed up and there were open parties at damn near every house on campus. Was a free for all and I got all up in the middle of it. Anyone that attended LSU post Ben Wynn has no idea what it was like as it was never the same in terms of partying. We used to drive our trucks over to campus at 9-10am on game day and jump the curb into the grass by the Greek theatre and start tailgating.
Knew a mid 30's guy who was teaching when I was there who had all kinds of stories from the 80's about mushroom harvesting in the ag fields where they kept the cows, cocaine galore at parties, etc.
I sure enjoyed my 7yrs there while earning that single degree...

those years you could have high school and college kids drinking at the same bar.

College kids today would be blown away by the crowds of South Seas during the 1980s.
This. My GDI friends and I would throw on a Hawaiian shirt and start frat house hopping. Free drinks, bands and women all night.

Syracuse number 8 this year
. Always in the top 10 because theres nothing better to do with several feet of snow outside december-april

these lists are always about giving every school their turn at being ranked number 1 or in the top 10 regardless of reality. I'm not saying LSU should be listed because I don't really know.

South Seas was legendary back in the day. We would drive from New Roads as Jrs/Srs in HS just to join in the debauchery.
LSU life from 90-95 was a serious party...when The Tiger was The Tiger and The Bengal was still there...
ETA: when La. finally changed the drinking age from 18 to 21 (94?) is when it started to die out. Then BW in 95 was the nail in the coffin.

Yeah, but all of them could drink legally back then. Ya'll missed out on the 70's, those were some wild times.
Not that I ever did any partying back then (in case my kids are reading).

Those rankings change yearly, it's a publicity thing.
