Reported by The Advocate. LSU refunded 50% of the students tuition, students are being given the opportunity to re-enroll at LSU if they meet the necessary requirements. Last week about 1,200 students faced expulsion.

University spokesman Ernie Ballard noted that LSU hopes to send a message to students to follow protocols in order for LSU and the community to have a successful fall.

I may not agree with their protocols and honestly am not informed about them all because it doesn't affect me. However, I will say, if you're going to make a rule, enforce the rule. If a student didn't want to follow the protocol, they could have enrolled elsewhere.

Not true. The students failed to opt out so basically they just didn’t fill out a form.

So they expelled them. It is a true statement.

Were the “protocols” set before the students enrolled? If not they should be given a full refund.

Opt out sounds like it was part of coronavirus protocols, so what part is not true?

I guess lsu makes the rules on their covid vaccinations but I hate how they make all new students burn an American flag

Alternate headline:
27 students refuse to follow guidelines set forth by university clearly establishing they will be unenrolled if they do not follow. Students are unenrolled.

That sounds fair. Either get the shot, show you’ve had the disease (and presumably have natural antibodies) or take a test. After two or three final warnings. And the students simply refuse to follow any rules at all.

My theory is that these students were failing and this gave them at least a 50% refund of tuition and way to save face at home.

These schools should be ashamed of themselves for shite like this, but these are the entities that get kids to run up tens of thousands in debt to walk through the door, so it shouldn’t surprise.

Those 27 just didn’t want to be in school. LSU Made it pretty easy on those that don’t want to get the vaccine.

Or- how about- comply when police turn on lights, pull over and do not resist arrest or commit crime, and you will not have any issues with getting beat up.

They have to be vaccinating unless they get a waiver approved. Faculty don’t have to get vaccinated but if they aren’t they have to get a negative test and upload it each time they come to campus

I read someone’s post of Facebook saying that students there are nearly 100% vaccinated. I didn’t even feel like telling them they’re wrong and some likely opted out ... wasn’t worth arguing as she wouldn’t have believed me anyway.

LSU is a mother fricking train wreck university. One of the worst in the country now. An absolute embarrassment.

I hear this sort of argument a lot, but it only makes sense for rules that make sense. We aren’t talking about choosing which soda you want from the machine. You can’t just pick another LSU to enroll at.

Obviously you wouldn’t say “if you don’t like the rule, go somewhere else” if LSU was requiring students to undergo gender reassignment surgery, so that implies there are limits to following the rules. The truth is that most of y’all have decided that it’s reasonable for the university to require this vaccine, so you don’t think we’ve reached the limits of rule following yet.
I disagree, but at least own your opinion, don’t hide beside this silly “if you don’t like the rule, go somewhere else” stuff.
