Won't the Unity Field group just find another spot to tailgate or is anyone really thinking that this will discourage them from attending?
it’s gonna be like playing whack a mole

A population that has no regard for laws, rules or civility isn’t gonna be deterred. Aside from banning all non student black folks under the age of 35, it isn’t improving.

I do appreciate the effort

I wonder why a bunch of these people all up in arms about weed being smoked on campus don't seem to care about the rampant underage drinking on the parade grounds
Probably because the rampant underage drinking crowd hasn't been responsible for multiple shootings the last two home games.

Wouldn’t be a problem had they not kicked out all the old school tailgating along Highland.

Might as well close campus down completely on that side of the Quad.

LSU will also reportedly crack down on disorderly conduct and firearms on campus. This includes smoking marijuana, and anyone found in violation will be detained if caught.

LSU was one of the many who upvoted my post from earlier this week.

Potheads you are on notice.

Yeah. Weed smokers is a more defendable position than saying black folks. Weed smokers are packing heat and celebrating getting shot

Hope they don't try to post up on the parade grounds. Frats vs. divine 9
The dekes may get kicked off again real fast.

What the hell is “unity field?” Spent four years on that campus never heard of it. I’m fatigued.

The area by the Chimes is going to be far worse than last week when all the displaced people congregate there. Chasing people outside the gates will only move the problem; it won’t solve it.

The “that’s racist” crap has already started

So, lsu has a black people area for tailgating and 2 shootings happen from that area and somehow there isn’t an obvious answer?

True. Because everybody knows smoking weed is a much bigger cause of violent behavior than binge drinking.

LSU punted this to the city. Hilarious.

Don’t be surprised if it’s worse for the ATM game now that they are all going to be pissed off and screaming racism.

Our law enforcement presence is fully coordinated. If individuals commit crime on our campus, they will be arrested, and we will work diligently to ensure conviction.

bullshite. LSU putting this out just ensured that there will be double, if not triple the amount of that crowd for the A&M game. Only now it will be in the name of social justice because the “community leaders” will cry that LSU is racist and trying to kick black people off campus on gameday.

He also said a specific student organization, which he declined to name, was responsible for drawing large crowds in the area.

What a pussy, strike Lee out from permanent Chancellor consideration.

Likely Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Their house is right there, or at least it used to be when i was in college.

Yup, Al Sharpton coming to the LSU A&M game with the CNN and MSNBC news trucks ready to agitate.

Interesting study .. someone could write a thesis on this topic..

Start with the southern game and create a focal point.. add in the lowering of university entering requirements… change the demographics ( personalities not just race)…mix in the problems of core group bringing in extended family friends and relatives with their attitudes.. social network spreads information and people in walking distance join..

I have heard a variety of op suggest reasons that vary.. imo… all connected..

Sorta like when your parents leave town and you invited a few friends over and end up with the entire school partying at you house

They can fix game day.. but we all know what the root of the problem is.. let’s get the entrance requirements back to where they should be!
