What is the hardest course of the curriculum? Trying to decide which semester is best to take extra hours.

Statics, that’s how all engineering majors end up in CM

There is no hard class in CM.

If you can't graduate the CM program, you need to go apply at McDonald's.

None of the CM courses are particularly rigorous, but commercial estimating, industrial materials, the second structures, and the course about HVAC and electrical systems are the most difficult (not saying much). I think the commercial estimating final was the only one that ever made me even the least bit worried.
Construction enterprise will be the most time consuming outside of class.

The hardest stuff are your 2101 and 2102 physics classes.

all of them are hard, just switch to engineering while you still can

If you can’t pass statics you’re either an idiot, lazy, or both

Which brings us to why I'm in construction managment.

Whole curriculum is a joke.

CM requires the calc based physics?

Did not know that.

That didn't used to be the case, but it is now.

Only 1/3 of statics students used to pass it on the first try. Only 1/2 of the students in a given statics class would pass period.

They changed the way the class was taught and tested around 2011 in order to not weed out nearly as many students. It's not the gate-keeper it once was.

Also requires MATH 1550 (Calc 1)

They have another math they can substitute for MATH 1552, though.

You really worried about hard classes in CM?

I had a buddy go through LSU CM after dropping out of engineering back in the early 00’s. His reason was calculus. I thought I remembered him saying CM didn’t require it or the calc based Physics. Remembered wrong I guess.

limit engineering = CM

I don't believe that. I can agree it was hard and people failed, but theres no way 50% failed and just had to drop out or change their major. If that was the case LSU wouldn't be pumping out engineers and CAM majors at the rate they do.

I don’t either. I went through ME. Believe me, statics wasn’t the weed out course. Fluids with mother fricking Gonthier was the weed out.

Believe it. There was definitely a time when statics was wayyy harder than it needed to be. During exams they would give you 4 problems in the time it took to finish three, and not curve anyone who failed. It was pretty common to take it at least twice, but it really messed you up when LSU started doing lockstep.

Just getting past fluids from thermo (already hard enough) was a feat in itself.

The Gonthier nightmares just mush all together. I forgot it was a solid year of thermo then fluids.

Best teacher at LSU though.
