They need to attract more out of state kids. Like get kids from all over to come here. It makes LSU better to have students from all walks of life. Let’s get a pipeline from NY/NJ/VA to LSU.

So how many people with 4.0+ GPAs and 30+ are attempting to go to LSU?
A lot. I was shocked at how many in state kids I met that had those kinds of scores in high school. Some people just want to go to LSU. It's a cultural thing.

Please god no. I came from out of state but the school experience was so much better because the majority of my friends were Louisiana people. It's a state university. I'm in favor of keeping it at an 80/20 split. I don't want the school to become Alabama or Ole Miss where the majority of students aren't from there and then automatically bolt as soon as they graduate. LSU should be a school for people from Louisiana first and foremost.

They could just waive OOS fees like Alabama does.

To some extent I definitely agree, I didn't even apply to any other school but LSU (grant it I didn't have a 4.0+ (my school was on a 4.0 scale or a 30+ ACT

Asians are a color too, you know?
Dang racist

so a 4.0+ and 30+ still requires a LOR?
Is this such a terrible thing to ask
I had a 3.95ish GPA and 30 on my ACT and I needed a few LOR's for scholarships.

I get the sentiment, but people who grew up in the state are bolting after graduation too.

Also, can he help us beat Bama? If so, really don't care.
I sent a signed, blank check to the lsuad for any QB that has a great game against bama

Lsjw is raising the minimum white/asian act score to a 32 from a 29. The “diverse minority” score will remain an 8

My wife went to a Catholic all girls school here in Nola. Every few moths she receives an alumni catalog in the mail, this past years class there was only 2 seniors who chose LSU. Most of the girls Goto UGA, Bama, OM,UVA or some small school in the north east. FWIW, my wife went to College of Charleston then transferred to Bama. LSU was never an option.

Sounds good but I hate Alleva and he owes me and every LSU football fan money back for helping the continued downfall of the LSU program.
ETA: Talking only about on-field.

for admission into LSU include a 3.0 grade-point average
If you only graduated high school with a 3.0 maybe college isn't for you.

Maybe highschools need to revert back to more rigorous coursework and grading where achieving a 3.0 actually meant something.

High schools really should push more people to the trades. Not everyone is cut out for college and need to learn there are still many options that have lucrative pay instead of wasting money, rather it's parents, their own, or taxpayers, to not finish.

I agree. But, in today's public school system, a 3.0 is just looks bad.

I think there is a certain level of "diversity" they want and demand and will ensure X% is that.

"Is Suzie going to LSU?"
"Oh heavens no dahlin, Suzie is a Sacred Heart grad. We would never consider LSU for her higher education. She is going to Bama or Ole Miss"
