Very very few places are immune to this anymore. The poors are reproducing far faster than the classes above them.

Coming from out of state and entering the job market out of state I can tell you I had zero issue securing interviews and recieving job offers in a highly competitive city like Chicago. LSU has great engineering and business faculty and has a second to none college expierence. (Sports, campus life). I’ve been to Gainesville man, plenty of getto over there

Everyone goes to LSU for TOPS then immediately leave the state after graduation.

Uh. I don't know if you've been to LSU recently but the only rough neighborhood is immediately north of campus. South of LSU is nice AF.
North of campus was more ghetto when I was there from 96-00

That is a huge lie you just told. Most schools are not surrounded by low income neighborhoods.
LSU is a good school, the problem BR is becoming a shithole.

For whats its worth. I have a friend who is a Dr. went to undergrad at Duke. Said if he had to do it over again he would do undergrad at LSU or a similar school and have a better college experience. He said you end up at the same place anyway. As his fellow Dr.'s went to mostly state schools for undergrad.

My daughter wanted to go because the lsu feminism and diversity department is one of the best in the nation and because lsu is overall a very safe space

LSU isn't surrounded by ghetto. There's a ghetto north of campus parts of which are being gentrified. South of LSU is some of the most expensive real estate in the city

Hard downvote on yet another BR/NOLA/LSU/LA sucks thread. GFY.

No actually Baton Rouge is finally speaking truth to power and LSU and the good shepherd Reverend F King Alexander is a big part of that. Once his plan to have students of color pay less to attend to get the diversity levels up come to fruition, LSU's rankings will skyrocket

USC says hello. This isn't LSU exclusivity.

Well to be fair once you have enough work experience employers don't really care where you went to school.

And why are private schools excluded from consideration? There are lots of scholarships that make them very affordable- especially at Rice.
Private universities by-and-large have more available resources based off endowments and higher tuition. There are also higher admissions standards.
Plus, I included the private schools in Texas that were ranked higher than LSU and the number was still less than 10. Care to list another school in Texas that is better than LSU, since there are easily 10+.

Because Brayden isn’t smart enough to get into a real school

What is the difference between an undergrad accounting degree from Florida and LSU?
Absolutely nothing. I received my Masters in Accounting from LSU, started Big 4, now in Management Consulting.
I have friends who received the same degree from UT Austin, which is unquestionably one of the best schools in the country. We wound up in similar places.
