These dudes aren’t hearing that. Teachers are the lazy devil.

I agree we should be in school tomorrow, but our “voices” mean nothing. We wait for the email/call just like everyone else.

Your voice shouldn’t be heard in this situation unless you are a meteorologist.

If it rains for 20 minutes in EBR there is unexplainable street flooding and someone will die in the water of the underpass on Acadian

Maybe some deaths in NBR too - but that’s to be expected

I agree. Was not a complaint on my part, just a notation to the poster who seems to think they take what teachers think into account. We get a lot of shite about cancellations, when we are waiting to find out just like anyone else and do not always agree with “sitting at home”.

Imagine being so dumb you think the opinions of teachers have any influence in matters like this lol.

I can see Tuesday sure but come on.

The reason why private schools in EBR didn’t close this Monday is because of the blowback after the weeklong closure fiasco over Hurricanes Marco & Laura.

Call the superintendent and complain. I did.

one school in the parish needs to close, all the schools shut down with them. There are a couple of schools in the southern part of the parish that are near major waterways and flooding is a serious concern. Many people in that area may need to be prepping for such an occurrence on Monday. Some may need to evacuate, and the longer you wait, the worse the evacuation traffic is. No one at the LPSB thinks the weather will be too bad tomorrow. But they closed school in consideration for the many families in Livingston Parish that may be doing hurricane prep.

So why not just close the schools that are “at risk”? Why do y have to close everything?

I think that’s a discussion worth having. But as of now, if one school in the parish has to close due to a weather threat, all the schools close.

Probably because it gets convoluted really quick depending on what you close for throughout the year. Then you have a ton of schools that have varying last days of school, which can be a pain in the arse if you're a parent with kids at multiple schools in an area.

So your teachers don't make that day up at the end of the school year?
