Why does this get people mad? Its called liability.

They don't want to risk having a student(s) getting hurt.. Or worse.. Under their watch. If that happens then they will have a few lawsuits on their hands.

That's what it comes down to. Stop acting like a bunch of drama queens.

40% chance of rain in Baton Rouge on Tuesday and school is cancelled. Our school will officially be 1 for 6 on cancelling school for storms this fall.

I understand the litigious side of things, but you also have to have some common sense about you. They jumped the gun way ahead of Marco a couple of weeks ago and waited a little longer this time, but still made an early and poor decision.

It was actually Ascension Parish's joke. LP just stole it.

I know someone who works for the state that is still working from home. He has not been to work since March and they just extended him another month last night. He makes one phone call a day at 8 am for five minutes and that's it. During this six months that he has been "working" from home he has also received a raise and is accruing sick and vacation time. It's a joke.

From what? Sunshine? We aren’t going to feel any effects from this storm today which we knew all weekend. Hell we likely won’t even get 1 inch of rain tomorrow.

Of course we cancel school if there is a good chance of severe weather but EVERYONE knew we weren’t getting anything today especially this far inland.

You along with a few others make some stupid post.

Speaking of stupid...hey dukke where ya at?

LP started school Aug 7 and has already missed 6 days with not one bad day of weather.
