The owners of the gas station called police because a large crowd was in their parking lot and they wanted them to leave. The sheriff took the call.
The cops ran us off from hanging out everywhere when we were growing up. I don't recall anyone shooting at them when they told us to leave. And, I haven't seen anything about the guy having any serious criminal history. Seems to be a hell of a jump into a criminal career.
