I’ve turned into a big Menards fan, one just opened here about a month ago.

Lowes POS system and their online order- in store pickup is horrible.

Placed a order for over 100 items. All showed in stock. Get the email showing order was ready for pickup and pick it up in Friday.

Saturday morning I start the project and realize a lot of the items are missing. Look at my pick up sheet and I have everything on the list but not everything on my order.

Their system could not tell me what items were back ordered because it actually showed everything being in stock. All it could do is email me everytime one of the items would show up and an associate pulled it.

I had to keep track of what items were still missing and figure out that they had finally all been pulled for me to make one trip for everything.

All the manager could do was apologize. Could not imagine being a contractor and using Lowes.

Never had that issue, but never ordered that many items. It does do weird things such as when you order 20 bags of mulch, it puts them on two line items, one with qty 1 and one with qty 19. Does that for every item I purchase that has a quantity of more than 10. No idea why.

That’s the problem most have. Even Amazon limits the number of items. I want to say 75. Although Lowe’s is awful at drop shipping for our customers. Their addresses get swapped quite often and their appliance delivery is sub par in comparison. We always have much better luck with Lowe’s in store pickup vs homedepot as far as finding orders for customers.

If you ever have a decent sized order or project just go to contractor counter at Home Depot they will usually give 10% off

Menard's is good since they sell grocery items as well, but so much of their product is crap. I would only buy name brands at Menard's. Everyone I know who has worked at Menard's has hated it though. I bought a chainsaw at Menard's and it was crap. It was made in China.

I then went and bought a German chainsaw and it was so much better. Menard's has good lumber though.

No doubt. That never fail 10% coupon you can get on eBay is legit. Buy it now and it’s emailed to you in less than a minute.

Home Depot tends to have better locations for white people.

I've never had a problem, but I'm not doing huge orders. I have had to drive to 3 different Home Depots looking for stain, though, when the first store only had half of my order.

Generally prefer Lowe's just because the local Home Depot's get raided by contractors and day-laborers early and the in-store customer service is better at Lowe's.

Shopping at Home Depot is like working in someone else's warehouse, except nobody knows you're there.

I find it all depends on the individual location. The Lowe’s close to my house is a freaking disaster but the HD is great.

The opposite is true close to where I work.
