When I really seriously cut back on my carbs it was eye opening to see how much I was eating in a day.

Yes it works, I've lost 62 lbs in 2 months. Hopefully I will hit my goal mid summer and keep eating a diet low in carbs.

96 calories in a miller light
144 in a Parish Envie
I'll take the extra 50 calories, and just drink more of them.

I'll stick to whiskey and vodka.

Unhealthy and unsustainable
Any diet is sustainable so long as the person has the discipline and motivation. It is not unhealthy, or at least not proven to be so. The people who jump to this conclusion still spout years of what appears to be wrong information about fat = heart attack.
It is a great diet if you want to lose weight quickly. It just falls off. Learn how to count carbs. We try to stick to under 20 a day and even fewer if possible at first. Not all vegetables are low carb, not even close. Eat tons of meats to keep yourself satisfied. Not a cheap diet but man it works when you do it right.

Those stick my face on the ground, usually something breaks on the way down, or when it hits the ground.
Low carbs, liquor, and I do not mix. It's really just the liquor.

Yeah I hear ya. That girl I mentioned earlier, it's been over a year since she's had anything to drink. She's terrified for the day she has a cocktail and sees how her tolerance has gone to shite

I'm still trying to figure that one out....
Its an easy way to diet for the general population. I guess because we eat way too much processed crap. On the other hand some people can diet easy on high fat, other high in carbs. The easiest way is to figure out your average intake a day. Start moving around a little more or work out. Whenever you hit a wall do a little more or just cut calories a little bit, usually carbs or fats. Try not to go insanely low calories at first so you can sustain progress.

So I guess these doctors have it wrong?
Bro, take your broscience and read a book based on actual, good science. You're telling me steak and eggs isn't sustainable? You haven't a clue what you are talking about. Why not go read about it before you talk about your carbs bro.
You don't need carbs, at all. They are not an essential nutrient for your body to survive. For years man has lived off "the fat of the land" and have done fine. Now, we have a major health crisis on our hands and you want to blame it on the lazy. I could sit on my but and never exercise and lose the weight....if I needed to.
It drives me absolutely nuts to hear people say "eat less, move more" without even knowing. Exercise to get fit, not to lose weight.
"A calorie is a calorie" violates the second law of thermodynamics
The first Law of Thermodynamics in real life
Explain this
But all calories are the same...

Being diabetic sucks, fortunatly, I love vegetables, so I eat a shite load of em and I probly avg 70- 100 carbs a day, I would really like to get back to 160

Brussel sprouts and asparagus are too expensive for me to eat on a daily basis, saving for a wedding
Vegetable staples for me are cauliflower, romaine lettuce, cabbage, peppers, broccoli.
I make homemade mayo and blue cheese sauce. I'm going to make my own ghee soon.

Nice post. Keep spreading the good word.
We live in complete opposition to our historical biology. We are in a word "mismatched" for our current modern environment. Only in our society would an ancestral eating pattern be considered "radical". Quite sad.
How the cereal and grain industry made breakfast a thing
If you really want to go down another interesting rabbit hole, I would suggest following the work on sleep by Dr Kirk Parsely

Another example of humans being completely mismatched to their modern environment. He has a ton of podcasts out there. Check out his work as he has very interesting credentials (Navy Seals). He is also Attia's go to sleep guy.
