This time a one year old. Family had had the dog for several years and it was never aggressive before.

Trashy pets for trashy people.

Only good pit is a dead one.

I really cannot understand the people who insist, despite constant evidence to the contrary, that these are good and safe pets. I love dogs, but these should be destroyed. There is nothing redeeming about them. They all have the propensity to turn and the strength to kill. Seriously, frick these dogs and the ignorant trash that insists on owning them.

Parents should never leave a child unattended with a dog.

If you can't watch the dog with your child at the same time, put the dog up.

It's really not that difficult to understand. Many dog owners have no business owning a dog and especially one that is larger than a toddler.

Yeah, until he wasn't.

That poor kid. Hope she recovers, though I'm betting she's now horribly scarred.

they make great hog dogs but yeah, they aren't really pets. It's kind of like people who have horses and kiss all up on them and end up getting stomped to death by it. They are working animals.

I don’t agree with the no redeeming qualities but the part I absolutey agree with you on is the ability and strength to kill.

THey are compact balls of muscle. People don’t realize how strong an animal is compared to your basic fat arse human.

This story makes me sick

“Dacshunds are more aggressive than pit bulls”

Thank god I can flick one off with my index finger then.

I'm so fricking tired of seeing "oh they're sweet dogs that would never hurt anybody...it's how they're raised" and other bullshite.

I've never seen a breed that's such a time bomb waiting to go off.

I've had a pitbull try to eat my face and damn near succeed. Another one of those "really sweet" ones. This happened as an adult, and if my dad hadn't been there to pull the dog off of me, I have no doubt he could have killed me. Idk about the hunting/working aspects, but they shouldn't be kept as pets and should be treated as wild animals.

I recently spent the day with a tourist that had one with him. Its head was the size of a damn basketball. I would have been less nervous being dropped off in the middle of a ghetto at 2 am.

I'm a rehabilitated pit bull (mix) owner.

I have no urge to ever own a dog ever again.

Sidenote: that WDSU webpage is irritating. I know they have to make money from ads.
What's annoying is that the spot will play once and when scrolling down to read the rest of the story, you have to watch the same damned spot again.

Aside from the breed argument, NO dog should be around a baby or toddler unattended. Well known fact that they don’t recognize them as humans when they are small and often view them as a threat to the family / pack. This is why you are supposed to bring a baby blanket home from the hospital and start acclimating the dog to the new presence of a screaming, shitting little being prior to its arrival. Freaks dogs out.
