When we, as a society, decide it has to end. Sadly, we’re nowhere near that point. Instead we have a sizable portion of society that ignores the cause of these shootings and instead want to blame guns as though guns were only invented in the last roughly 30 years.

That area is turrible. MLK is a few blocks away and there are tons of President streets there.

No the the frick it isn't.

And mlk is nowhere near Sluggers and it's all of 1 block in length that is home to the IRS building.

I mean do you think the gun stops working when the males turn 35?

Um, no. But they're no longer "required" to own a gun.

Literally the only point I'm making is that a small percentage of citizens in Switzerland are required to own a gun for a very short period of time. The purpose of the post was to clarify blueboy's broad, sweeping comment that "Switzerland requires citizens to own guns. It's the law."

WLKY is saying there was a shooting in front of JCTC.

The school is on lockdown.

So Google maps showing the MLK Expressway bordering Slugger's park is a big fat Google lie? It shows it just on the east side.

ETA: So downvote queers are racist too, and don't want to call MLK by its name because of racism like that douche that keeps whining at me?

I was thinking about going to waterfront after work since the weather is nice, but I may hold off on that today with this downtown foolishness

People like josh336 don't actually have any real solutions. They just become over emotional after these events for a few days then forget about them.

Be sure to point out that they get selectively over emotional. This thread/shooting already has twice the pages as the beach shooting. That one just didn't stir those emotions.

MLK Expressway

You do know that is Interstate 65 (which stretches from Indiana to Alabama) which no one in Louisville calls it MLK right lol

Not really. They do have a good bit of homeless people, like any downtown. But it’s definitely not terrible. You cross over a block & you are in NuLu, a very popular shopping & entertainment area

Why? Because all we care about is our image and others images. People get obsessed with being liked by others and allowing others to piss them off too much.

BINGO

People are constantly inundated with other people's carefully crafted social media lives.

Parents don’t teach their children how to cope with emotions. The older generations didn’t have any at all and these younger people are over dramatic with theirs.

Then, add a constant barrage of depressing and negative news preaching division and selling hate being hammered into their brains 24/7/365.

The best thing all of us can do is delete social media accounts and turn off the tv. Those two things would go a long, long way.

Profile these people in firearm sales and I guarantee there will be a decline in mass shootings. It's the same stereotype every time.

At what point do we stop with the black/white/gay diatribe and realize that this country and that generation are in trouble? I’m genuinely concerned about what will be the norm for my young son as an adult.
