Correct me if I'm wrong? But isn't Detroit as red as the map allows?

I'm talking about surrounding areas as well.

Some other parts of Michigan are overrun.

frick those left wing sissies at Politico. They can keep their Yankee bullshite statistics and I will keep our southern heritage, great food, SEC football and Mardi Gras. Love me some LA.

Exhibit A to support the South having more than it's fair share of ignorance.

I don't see how any state could be worse than Mississippi or Alabama.

It'll be lost on the rest of the country, but Mississippi isn't in the same league as Alabama anymore. Alabama is better in pretty much every conceivable way.

Alabama still has horrific parts, but it's come a long way.

I mean honestly what is there to do in New Hampshire or Delaware. I love the south for the most part.

What was your experience visiting those states like?

Exactly. They are like night and day now. Take the 5 best cities in Alabama and they are better than the 5 best cities in Mississippi by a country mile.

The only "major" city in Alabama that rivals the worst in Mississippi is Montgomery, in my opinion.

I have family in both. And while they are beautiful areas no doubt, there was not a lot to do for me personally. I like going out and I like playing golf as long as the season allows. Their winters are pretty miserable and long. But to each their own, its just not a place I would like to live. No pro teams or anything as well. Plus I refer to Wayne's World on this subject. "Hi I'm in Delaware."

What's funny is that most of those states vote red in Presidential and National elections. So if the states with all the blacks are already Red, why are conservatives pandering to minorities?

People in NH and Delaware just sit in their house and stare at blank walls every night, bored to tears and frustrated at their high literacy, low crime, and healthy communities.

Meanwhile the south has the SEC so that makes up for the rampant STDs (abstinence only y'all), tons of crime, and horrible education. But gumbo gumbo gumbo!!!!

Putting Louisiana last, so next year, they can put them back to second to last to show fake improvement from Gov. Edwards and push their left winged agenda

REPUBLICAN Bobby Jindal has financially destroyed our state over the last 4 years... Just like George W Bush did to our country when he was in office.

And no, I'm not a left winger, I'm actually a registered republican. I just see things for what they are. They cared much more about getting their rich buddies paid with tax breaks than they cared about you. Think about that for a second...

I honestly think it's sad that people see a survey like this which is based largely on statistics (which may or may not be manipulated) and spend more time worrying about the political bent of the article or bragging about food rather than recognizing the severe societal issues that impact the state.
