Sure i am. Anyone would. Love to have them pay for my piloting license.

I’m pretty sure he got his pilot’s license through the LA Tech Aviation program as a college student.

By the obvious "white privilege" line

He's raising money and awareness for Louisiana MedCamps, which is a phenomenal organization. (You OT rollers ought to think about contributing) Major props to the young man for his courage and charitable spirit.

The only way to become a pilot, especially that young...

This is the definition of White privilege.

But seriously hope this journey is a successful one. That is an amazing accomplishment at such a young age... but still $$$$

I would hardly consider this a case of "I was only kidding"

This all started from someone cracking a few bad comebacks and some butthurt reactions..

Overnighted in St. Johns from the looks of it. Wonder if he made it out to the Cotton Club.

I was in the Civil Air Patrol and could have gotten my pilots license pretty cheap, if I wanted. We had ground school and a bunch of hobby pilots with their own airplanes that would take us up. I just found out early that I'm prone to motion sickness, inner ear disorder, and didn't enjoy flying (especially in smaller planes). Still a great organization for those kids interested in flying or the military. This helped cause my HS didn't have jrROTC..

I remember when the complaint was about the "idle rich". To the extent this young man is privileged, shouldn't we be celebrating his industriousness?

I don’t think it was ever answered, but the plane is a 1975 Piper Saratoga. Known as the SUV of the sky. Big and heavy but pretty slow. 110-125kts. Should haul plenty of fuel though.

That takeoff out of Hawaii should be interesting. I met JP, the guy that recently did it in the Cessna and he said that the climb out was painfully slow with all the extra fuel for the pacific crossing. The Saratoga flies like a bus so I’m sure that will be worse for this guy.

Oh come on now. You know he has connections with Trump. He flying over Russia. That's what all the collusion was about.
