When you have been in other states for an extended period and you return to Louisiana (no matter what part thereof), the very first thing you notice is the condition of the roadways and how bad they are.

No, this is what happens when brainless voters who know no better and don’t expect better continually vote to elect or re-elect corrupt abusers almost like it is a tradition.

The former DOTD Secretary is running for governor and is pretty much guaranteed to make the runoff.

He’s guaranteed to make the runoff not because he’s a good candidate but because of the way Louisiana’s primaries are set up.

Just looked at this spot on Google Maps and there wasn't even a divot in the road right there in March.

New and refreshing topic.

I searched for a recent one. I’m sorry if this thread was a pothole that you just couldn’t avoid.

It's not only the lumps and bumps, but state and local governments have never heard of paint for striping roads.

I can’t imagine any state having worse roads. I’m visiting for the week and I’ve been blown away at how unbelievably bad they are.

I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one... stayed up!

I'm still looking for huge tracts of land.

this thread again..... there are 2 major issues what cause this... 1 is funding LA has very little funding that actually goes to maintenance. The last Gas Tax bill that failed vote woudl have allocate more money to this... yea another tax and i get the whole argument we are taxed to much, but this was the first good tax we have had in a while....

yet Tarsha can get 80 mil over 10 years and people vote for it.

The other is Louisiana has had the Mississippi slathering its sloppy poo soil all over the state for millennia. shallow founded structures especially roads just don't last long here. the ground moves.

DOTD has been non-existent since the tax failed. Reckon why?

Yeah, em especially when we heard the news LSP had been using the existing funds to keep us safe.
