spent significant time in Pennsylvania and loved it.

The Carolinas seem nice

my in laws live in Bend Oregon and that area is real cool.

Honestly, Louisiana doesn't have a lot of draw to it. I mostly remain here to be close to family.

We moved to NC for all the reasons you stated. From an outdoor perspective NC has everything LA has and more (beaches and mtns). Food cultures aren’t drastically different (seafood). Everything else is a good bit better too

East Texas near one of the small cities/town with a modern hospital. Had a couple of Acadian ambulance folks say the Tyler hospital is huge and brand new.

Louisiana is really bad, things do get better out there.

You dont realize how much the weight of dysfunction weighs down everything until you leave.

I’ll be moving to north Arkansas when I retire with wife (no pics). Always said I wouldn’t leave family but that’s our place we kind of negotiated on. I wanted South Carolina initially. I’ve lived in Nola and Shreveport and hate to say it, but I’m literally exhausted from the culture. It’s getting harder to escape from and I don’t have enough money to truly get away and stay close to family. I’m tired of the litter also. I’ll be adding a conservative vote to an area of Arkansas the Californians are flocking to

I moved to AR around the Hot Springs area about 8 months ago from Southern LA. Love it so far. I also just bought some land on Toledo Bend. I’ll be building over there soon. So when I want to go visit back home I’ll have a camp by the water to stay at. Best of both worlds is the hope/plan.
