When it came time, only a few guys had records of sales to move forward. They were all hiding cash.

Might be, but I know it isn’t the farmers jacking the price up. This board needs to start understanding that a lot have but some still haven’t.

I agree the farmers are not at fault for the pricing...for the most part they are price takers set by a few larger distributers.

That was 24 years ago
Do you know how much the crawfish industry has changed since then?

How many had records for the freeze payments a while back? Just about all of them

The price drops due to over inventory. I paid less for live a week before Xmas in 2021 than they are now. Argue and piss and moan all you want about "facts." Crawfish should be advertised on late nights with the infomercials, along with the midgets who sell real estate. All a complete scam. Get another job. The world needs ditch diggers.

I didn’t start this thread, but I’m not going to let uneducated people slander farmers when they don’t understand what’s going on. So I guess try to educate people on this board about the crawfish industry the best I can.

Pretty sure I’ve never once complained about the wholesalers in any crawfish thread on here

Probably so price to the farmer was $3lb during Christmas week in 2021 also the volume was the most I’ve caught for a Christmas week ever, simple supply and demand. No one is catching crawfish right now, boiling houses are getting so few sacks and selling out what they get. Stop eating crawfish if it’s such a scam so you can stop whining no one wants to keep hearing you.

Keep pushing that narrative White Bear but we aren’t claiming to being victims. All we’re doing is correcting people like you who say things with no merit.

The geese eat the stubble not the crawfish and they run the water quality. Crawfish farmers fight them every year during this time

This cracks me up, especially when those guys apply for water holding conservation programs that are supposed to benefit ducks.

What I am hearing is advocacy for socialism in our crawfish industry.
All that has happened here is typical supply / demand / working of markets.
But the Gov. Owes some favors, so he wants gubmit support for businessmen.
If only the poor, hungry kids who rely on federal meals could call in some favors…

You have no idea how the industry works. You are stuck in the same old tenant farming mindset. I know every farmer worth their salt in SWLA. Maybe you should should worry about planting some CLEAFIELD so you don’t have to hide your crawfish cash to pay back your farm loan from The Bank in Jennings. Tell Blain I hope you make you payments. If you don’t I have a fee people ready to buy your farm.
