How’s that possible? LSU won the national championship just 1 year ago

Maybe our third attempt at a Mexico will succeed.

I have lived in 4 states. Every year each state would push the worst state theme where they would find the things that some random poll, survey, or industry mag would push out declaring that state the worst or one of the worst states in something. It is all BS. Funny how many of them were on some list declaring their roads the worst roads or their politicians the most corrupt. A month later they would push out the best list stories. I once saw in the same year where Louisiana was the top 5 most depressed state and then months later the people of Louisiana were rated as the top five happiest. There is no way to judge and entire state and rank it against another state because none of them are similar and all the criteria are generalizations.

Pal, Louisiana has been sitting at the bottom for decades.
We’re 4 years in a row the worst now
That’s new

I think I see a trend developing

No shite. Have people worked up about a bakery (Hubig’s) coming back and I am not hearing anything about any major companies opening office here. Companies are looking to leave CA and NY and we aren’t getting any.

I've only followed these US News best states for a few years but I haven't seen us crack the top 49 yet.

How are we 49th in natural environment?
Aren’t we sportsman’s paradise?
I don’t disagree with the other rankings
The natural environment category is not ranked on the state's "natural talent" as it were but how the state takes care of that natural environment. If it was just what was offered by nature itself California would be very near the top instead of in 35th in the category. Hawaii was number one and while it has immense natural beauty it also has a deep-seated cultural respect for the land as well as recognizing nature is its #1 natural resource and protecting it as a result. Without its natural beauty Hawaii would be an incredibly poor state.

Ohio #36 . We should be more like 12-15 range .

consistency is underrated.

I always just laugh at these, but it does kinda hurt to see New Mexico ranked above us. You want to talk about an utter shite hole, that shite stain on the map takes the cake.

They actually ranked California 50th in opportunity and 35th in equality. Surprising

Sums up pretty much all of the SEC states.

Louisiana has exactly zero positives to offer a major company.

Louisiana has a good chance to rebuild. Lots of draft picks, new GM.

Nah.
Tennessee
Texas
Florida
Even Arkansas and Kentucky aren't bad.
Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are pretty terrible.

I don't disagree it's the worst state but just curious, what if you have a little money? Is it still last if you do OK financially? Or is it just last if you're on welfare and EBT?
Posted on 3/25/21 at 1:44 pm to thadcastle
No way we are dead last with the great leadership we have at governer and at mayor in the key cities in the state.

It's all relative. Just because someone is well-off doesn't mean the lack of opportunities, investment, and infrastructure magically disappear. Wealthy Louisiana families are not pushing their kids to go to a Louisiana college.
