I've lived in three of the states ranked much higher in the list and I wouldnt leave Louisiana for any of them again. Quality of life is what you make it no matter where you live.

I’ve posted it numerous times but outside of West Virginia and some parts of Kentucky, the poorest, highest mortality rates, teen pregnancies, lowest life expectancies, and just about every metric that’s negative in the south occurs in the blue parts of red states.

They're not exactly dogging on Republican, small government states. Utah, Idaho, and Nebraska make the Top 10 and California doesn't.

HOLY shite, it gets better. The 50th rank does not do it justice.

I threw the numbers into excel and did an average across the board. There were a few changes so there is definitely a weight to the system, but LA has an average of 47.13. 49th (actually New Mexico) is 41.75th

I’m not saying they are. I’m just saying that blue parts of the red states in the south are what brings them down.

To be fair Washington and Minnesota were 1 & 2, Texas and Tennessee didn’t crack the top 20. La is a shithole, but list is suspect at best

Yeah but we were around 47th before. And definitely weren’t losing to Mississippi. Thanks JBE

Are people moving to those states anymore like they are Texas, Florida and even Alabama?

Not for the first time, Louisiana has scored dead last in a ranking of the 50 states published by U.S. News. In its annual Best States Rankings, the publication draws on “thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens,” and concludes that Louisiana is failing in all the major areas that count.

Highest # of government employees of any state, per capita...it's almost like, Democrat policies hurt the average citizen...

Comical, I mean I'm not surprised but I would have to guess that LA is a better state to live in than Indiana or somewhere, if not based on food and nothing else.

How are we 49th in natural environment?

Aren’t we sportsman’s paradise?

I don’t disagree with the other rankings

This state views government run agencies such as water boards, education, licensing, not as public works entities to be run as efficiently and effectively as possible, they are viewed as jobs programs to provide jobs to as many people as possible. This is a huge problem with the state and why so many things run by the state are run so
Poorly.
