It only would have took 10 or so good scores and they would have been near the top
I suspect your score wouldn't have been one of the ten needed to help.

ACT scores mean nothing. I made a 24 on the ACT. Not would I have liked for at all. Currently have a 3.98 in Engineering at LSU as a junior. Know a guy that made a 32 I went to high school with who could not hang in college. ACT does not mean jack shite.

yep, look at the number of students. St. Tammany, Livingston and Ascension should be your top three. with straight up stats.

It’s a test to make sure you can comprehend what you read. So if you’re not a fricking moron, you can read a paragraph and comprehend what it says. Or doesn’t say. Dipshit.

Williamson County Schools once again broke its record ACT score, with an average composite score of 25.4 for the 2017-18 school year, according to the Tennessee Department of Education. That's up from 25.2 for the 2016-17 school year.

Except salmen. They're terrible.

Tell me about it. When I went there in the late 90s it caught a bunch of shite but it was not bad. It is pretty much a section 8 school now. Get this, the section 8 directly across the street from the school had to have a bus stop. The bus fricking actually has to stop there and bring them across the street...

Intelligence does not equal work ethic. A decent work ethic is needed for a good GPA in college. This kid could certainly “hang” if he had any drive, but he obviously didn’t. It’s ok baw, a good work ethic probably means more than above average intelligence.

ETA: Wow I knew LA was dumb as rocks, but these numbers are terrible. 14??? Jesus

It’s the Recovery School District.

By definition, it is the worst schools in the state which have been taken over by the state in an attempt to rehab them.

If an average HS would be considered LSU and a bad one like Glen Oaks would be considered Southern, this would be the CC systems like Delgado or BRCC.

I"m pretty sure the grades that the state gives schools and school districts has an item that rewards schools for the number of kids who make a certain score, not for the average score or percentage of kids who make a certain score. Thus, the incentive is for them to give it to all the kids. (Not sure if there is a state mandate for all kids to take it or not). The scores are more worrisome if you consider that some schools/school districts have dedicated 1/2 semester ACT Prep classes as part of their curriculum, and that kids take a practice type ACT test in 10th grade and take the actual test in both Junior and Senior years.

There is a mandate that every junior in LA public schools must take the ACT; it’s a double edged sword in that it’s the only standardized test that has some actual benefit to some of the kids (those who plan to go to college get a free test) but can hurt the schools and state overall with scores from kids who already got the score they need or have no intention of going to college. I know a kid who got a 34 as a sophomore bubbled random stuff as a junior and slept. He brought his school’s average down some.

The school performance score is based on the score the kid gets, with more points awarded for higher score brackets. I believe no points are awarded for any score lower than an 18.

Does this list take into account the folks who take it as many times as possible? I only did in high school but by the time my parents' trial run with me was over, the other siblings were all taking the ACT at least once a year beginning in like seventh grade

That's one school that is the only high school in its district. How did Mandeville High or Fontainebleu do individually? Probably higher than Zachary.

Just looked it up. Mandeville, Fontainebleu, Northshore and Lakeshore all out scored Zachary.

When a 21.9 is the best this state can muster...that's some sad numbers.
The composite outranks eight other states. Plus you're looking at districts. Some individual schools did much better.
