How is it that only 97 more kids took it New Orleans than Shreveport?
Jefferson population 440,000
Caddo population 260,000
Now what's Orleans' population?

I remember going to all the games of that 0-10 football team because our marching band was the tits. Always left after their halftime show.

When a 21.9 is the best this state can muster...that's some sad numbers.

Baton Rouge and NOLA are really screwed when Caddo Parish has more students taking the ACT, and scoring higher.
Louisiana has no hope if Shreveport is the model for urban education.

Zachary and Central both in the top 4. Someone remind me again why St. George isn’t a good idea?

BR and Nola have big private school populations. Magnet programs aside it's mostly poor kids that attend the public schools in those two districts.

Just confirmed STM middle had 6 kids that made 28+. Highest was a 6th grader with a 32.

Main moral:
Small towns in Northeast LA such as Oak Grove, Lake Providence, Tallulah, and Ferriday are just empty pits of rural society.

But you have to go through Ferriday to get to Vidalia.
Unless you’re coming up from the south or through Natchez. Only poor people drive south to get to Vidalia.

If you haven’t seen the New York Times mini-doc on TM Landry in breaux bridge it’s a must see. How they are not in jail I don’t know, much less still running a school.

Average ACT score by state
Ah, Louisiana isn't so bad. Except for those brainiac New Englanders the average scores are pretty similar.
