Better than your pseudo intellectual posts which say nothing of value. You’re not nearly as smart as you want people to think.

Listen to this guy...he's making complete sense and offers a win-win for all involved.
As far as local governments putting their own restrictions in place, when our governor here in GA, Kemp, issued his phase 1 opening there was verbiage in the order stating that the state government's rules supersede all local rules...basically telling ATL mayor to kick rocks.

It says they MAY establish that period of time. Would be politically smart of them to punt it back to JBE until he comes up with a less restrictive plan.
He could always just issue the same order and we'd be right back to square one.

Dear Senator _____,
As a representative of the people, I am appalled and embarrassed at you and our parties lack of involvement in Governor John Bel Edwards recent decision to keep the economy in a standstill. This is a pitiful display of power and I urge you to stand up for what is RIGHT! Our families are struggling for cash, and the middle class will soon be evaporated if this shutdown continues even one more day.
Not to mention the looming deficit that hangs over our heads once the oil and gas issues begin to take a toll. WE ARE ON A SINKING SHIP AND IT IS YOUR DUTY TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!
Yours Truly,
Concerned Constituent
This is from a post yesterday.

After 15/30/60 days and no spike, he’s not issuing the same order.

An out-right nullification is going to maximize risk and will shift the entire responsibility of the consequences on the GOP.
then why wouldn't JBE just call their bluff?
Because IF JBE not just a TPOS masquerading as an honor code boyscout, and IF he's not a puppet of the DNC, and IF he's not sacrificing the state's economy for the sake of a bailout of his own failures, then he would:
1) accept the fact that Louisiana law allows for this type of oversight
2) consult openly and honestly with the legislature about motives, methods, etc.
3) modify the existing EO into a policy that is more reflective of the need to reopen the economy more quickly and that is acceptable to the existing legislature and not subject to being nullified.
Who thinks JBE has the integrity to take these steps?

FieldMink, you honestly believe that all those 1700 deaths have all been because of COVID-19 or that these people died of other causes. Human error says that there's definitely some skew on those numbers.
So now we are suddenly concerned about proper tallying and labeling causes of death
I didn't see this outrage when flu numbers are reported. Someone gets pneumonia and dies its labeled as Flu.

The post was asking about Petition to Rescind with no prohibitive period.
They could do a shorter period, but again, you are maximizing the risk to the state and because of the incubation period, you may not see the effects of that increased risk by the end of the designated time.

Legislature ain't gonna do shite, it's too high of a risk with too little reward.

are we sure they have the spine?
If ever there was a time for the shitty legislature to make a stand against the shitty power hungry governor it’s now. Also in the 1930s, 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s and 2000s and 2010s, but now too.

Does anyone have anything more concrete than a short quote from a single state rep?

It's an 8 minute video.
Posted on 4/28/20 at 1:56 pm to LSUFanHouston
There's an audio interview with him that's about 8 minutes. He talks about how the house and senate are both putting together the petition.
