There are constant threads here about how terrible Baton Rouge and Louisiana overall can be. I am not discounting people's frustrations, this state really is fricked up in some ways. However, after wathcing the underdogs of Ukraine fight to the death (and win) for their land, it gives me hope that people of Louisiana will do the same. There are more good people than bad, we just need to work harder to take control of our future. Complaining about our issues on this site certainly draws attention to an issue, but getting involved in the community and making an effort to resolve the issues are the only way we're going to prevail. Hate litter? Volunteer with groups to pick it up. Concered about the youth? Spend time mentoring at risk-youth. We've witnessed how bady government can destroy our society. Don't expect governement to be the soltuion. You be the solution.

People across the world are demotivated. It’s a natural malaise that runs its course from time to time. Happens when people are unable to reconceptualize the world so all they see is old issues that will never be solved.

They don’t understand they need to approach things from a different angle

The solution needs to happen within the homes causing the problem. Nothing else but that will fix it. That’s never going to happen.

There is plenty of ammo to rid the bad areas of the problems, but to do so is still highly illegal.

This. Everywhere in this nation that I'd want to live is characterized by mostly intact families that value work and education.

Mostly incompetent and corrupt politicians raping the citizenry for personal gain and the citizenry continually voting in mostly incompetent and corrupt politicians is the main problem I see.

I can’t change how idiots vote and how pieces of shite reproduce like rabbits creating an obscene amount of pieces of shite. I’m also not going boots on the ground to fight crime like frickin Batman.

A few months ago, I read an article about a survey where the majority of participants had a very negative outlook about the future of their country or the world, but the majority also had a positive outlook on their individual futures. I thought it was a very interesting contradiction. Unfortunately, I don’t have that problem

Although politicians do suck, they don't really have the best material to work with. There are millions upon millions of shitty irresponsible Americans living in this land. We need to bring back shunning and be more judgemental about destructive lifestyles.

We aren't victims. As soon as people start taking more personal responsibility in their lives, take care of their property and the community's property, and take their work/education more seriously then we'll see some improvements. We also have to embrace a more competence based society where people are rewarded for their knowledge and hard work and not who they know. The average Louisianan voted for these toolbags because "he's one of us" or "I know his mom and she's a good lady."

Aside from the shitty hot miserable weather from May to October, I actually like living in New Orleans and Louisiana.

Most of y’all make it out to be much worse than it actually is.

It could be better. A lot better. But it’s still home.

Bro, Putin had victory day yesterday and then had a speech today comparing current American leftist thoughts to that of the former Soviet Union. He claimed the left can't rise above what the Soviets did and he's not wrong.

The EU isn't banning Russian oil purchases because Ukraine won..........

The first step to real change has to be calling a constitutional convention for the purpose of framing a new state constitution and blowing up the current one (ETA: aside from the existing declaration of rights in Article I).
