My opinion is waffling a bit on this seeing what's going on in the UK now. I'm curious why UK cases stopped falling. They test a ton. It makes me wonder a lot of things. Are those just constant background cases now? Is it actually shifting to new people still remaining? Temporary?

Severe cases/death still seem manageable so I'm just curious now.

More from Asher:

quote:

Louisiana's COVID trend is a tale of two pandemics. Places that took off first (NOLA, BR, Northshore) were -66 in hospitalizations over the last 4 days. Places that took off later (Shreveport, Lake Charles, Lafayette) were +101 over that span.

Hangover are these people with quicker discharges mainly requiring oxygen??

Yes, we have quite a few pts on high flow cannulas running at 40 liters and 100%, which they've been easier to wean. It's helping to keep pts from being intubated as well..

Unfortunately, some have crashed and needed to be tubed...

This 4th wave, or whatever the frick it is, has been pretty bad. Not as bad as the original onslaught, but it's the busiest we've been with Covid since the original hit.

I'm hoping we've peaked and on a down slide now, but we can only wait and see.

Yes. It’s dropping so much that Terrebonne General doesn’t have a bed empty. Completely gone away. In fact it was never real to begin with.

The world is full of idiots.

Obviously Covid heard about Teedy’s mandate and decided to behave bc it knew she would not be bullied.

The title of this thread is two words too long.

My point is that the Advocate won't run a story about COVID unless it's negative.

The Advocate is a pile of steaming human shite. There is legitimately no chance they would ever run any story that doesn't help push more fear or paint Democrats in a positive light.

After reading your post and your lack of understanding of what OP is actually saying, I would agree with your statement.

UK seems to be pretty much life as normal now. I watched a few soccer matches this weekend and stadiums were packed.

We've had a major uptick in hospital admissions and vents, worse than the 2nd wave that came through. However, people are being discharged at a faster pace.
Because many of them didn’t need to be admitted in the first place. And vent use is way lower than previously.

Their headline on Afghanistan was simply that the “costly” 20-year war is now over.

stupid people think finding an exception to the rule is a gotcha.

non-stupid people think reaching for an exception to the rule makes you pathetic.

You do realize this is what we call a forward indicator? One that has been accurate for each previous surge of forecasting downtrends. It's good news, but I see you don't want to accept that.

The world really is full of idiots.

You could make the same inference with the US and it’s baseball stadiums right now

My observation shouldn't be mistaken for how we should handle things or that we should lockdown or anything like that.

I'm generally curious why that case count leveled out in the UK, and what that could mean here.
