In '83 the Red River froze in Shreveport. I remember it getting down to 5° in Shreveport in the '79 to '81 time frame.
Local meteorologists in Shreveport now predicting 7-8" of snow for NW LA.

NOLA—-11 degrees Bayou St John Froze
Lake Verret froze
12/25 or 26 was the first time the temp went above freezing since the 22nd. On 12/27 you had to break ice in ponds to catch redfish in Myrtle Grove.

I’ve got the same dilemma. Wife and I are supposed to be flying out of New Orleans tomorrow to Vegas then driving to Zion National Park. Flight is coming back Tuesday and worried about being able to get back home.
