I didn't get out toward Youree. Theres plenty of 4x4 baws hooking their rigs to Semis trying hilariously to pull them up icy hills.
Do most of the businesses have power? Is much open up there?

The power situation is good. There are some outages, but not many. The issue here is the water system and road conditions. The roads have a 2-6 inch layer of solid ice and the water system is completely destroyed.

The snow sure makes tracking squirrels easier. They are slower in the snow, too. Don't think I wouldn't be eating squirrel if I was hungry enough.
It has been above freezing since about 11 last night with water dripping everywhere and we still have a couple inches on the ground with more in the drifts. I measured 3.25" on the deck last night, but this morning when I got out, I had some areas of over 4". It was snowing snowballs! We got more than an inch an hour. Roads are okay today, but with temps in the 20s again tonight there will be a whole lot of water left to refreeze. I watched several struggling cars last night on the road in front of the house. Some folks were caught off guard with how it just dumped sleet, then snow. Never heard or saw a crash, though.

Damn, good news on the power, awful about the water, hopefully they can get it back rather quickly. I streamed KTBS, I think it was Tue, I'll probably watch the 5p news online.

Monday and Tuesday morning were incredible here. I had 6-8 inches of fluffy dry snow. The deer tracks were easy to follow. My son and I followed one track right to a bedding area and spooked one up. Was so fun.
Now there's 2 inches of ice frozen solid over the snow. I'm about to go send the 13 year old down my big hill on a cardboard sheet. It's gonna look like Chevy in Christmas Vacation. He asked me earlier, "How will I stop?" I said, "see those trees?"

Update from ATX. Electricity is back, water pressure is low, and morale is high.

Guy that lives at thrill hill had it set up starting Monday. In typical Shreveport fashion a water main blew out at the hill and half the street was a mud pit.

They're going to go back to work and say jokingly,
"I bet you don't remember me"
