Still no word on 10 EB from Lafayette to BR huh? I'm still roughly ~2 hours out from there but it'd be nice to not have to detour

lady next door was just telling me half of Alexandria is without power and there's significant concern that they're going to be told to shed power load... so rolling blackouts could be a thing in Alexandria too

I believe I-10 is still closed from Lafayette to BR. LA511 app.

Took 190 from Lafayette to BR before noon. All good that way.

Would there be a need to do blackouts with so many people out? There’s more people out right now than there were when they did blackouts

this was a whole discussion in this thread last night
it's not b/c of the power being used in Alexandria... but the power being used over the whole grid which spans Texas into Louisiana
Alexandria gets its power from MISO I believe it was and MISO is being stretched thin with everything going on in Texas so we may be told to power down for a bit to help regulate things

Heavy freezing rain and plain old rain continues. Remember that if you are 33 at ground level, it could still be 31-32 in the tree tops, so ice can still form on limbs. One interesting note is that there is now a flash flood warning in Catahoula and Concordia Parish. I’d imagine travel is very difficult due to the slush, and ice possibly jamming up some of the drainage options. What a wild storm. If you want a good laugh, it looks like one more impulse could rotate through, and bring another round of light freezing rain, sleet, and maybe even a little snow on Thursday morning. Here’s hoping your lights are still on, and your roof isn’t leaking! I’ll update that much lighter event after this fiasco is over.
