Lost power yesterday morning and went to a friends house north of Austin.

They had heat but no internet. All of the sudden about 30 minutes ago I got a host of emails and texts as their internet came back on.

Was able to look at my thermostat and it was 40 degrees. Up to 55 now.

doesn't look like we're getting above freezing today

last update from AEX said 32 degrees and the sun is now setting

looks like the run of hours at or below freezing will continue

it's been since between 8-9 PM Saturday since we've been > 32 degrees

In DS, high was supposed to be 40 it never got above 28 and is back down to 25. I'm starting to wonder if they missed the temps for tomorrow and if we end up with ice again.

the “new” bridge or the Horace Wilkinson is still closed and probably will be until tomorrow (although they are still trying to de ice it currently),

Just to remind people as to why the new bridge is closed. They have every ability to de ice the road surface if they wanted too. It has to do with the over the roadway structure that has ice build up. They are unable to de ice all those girders. That takes temps, sun, and time to happen. They can’t risk a slab of ice falling off into someone’s windshield.

The old bridge has no structure above the actual roadway. It’s all above the railway which runs down the center of the bridge. The new bridge may not even open back up tomorrow if there is still ice built up on the structure.

I never did either until the last big freeze that shut it down. A retired DOTD baw was my neighbor, and told me that was the reason.

You should shoot that Sparrow. He's an a-hole of the worst kind.

Latest HRRR shows brief period of freezing rain tomorrow morning for Br area. Probably won't be enough to cause any additional problems, but colder weather and clouds definitely keeping the ice here longer than what was expected

That's a white-crowned sparrow, not a house sparrow. Those are the cool ones. House sparrows are dicks that deserve to be shot on sight (not native, so it's legal).

Where at? My sister had lost power for a little while this morning, but everyone else was good. Didn't realize anyone in LC was still out.
