Most of the new panel packages sold were for 25K with 20K in credits. So net cost 5K.
And they still whine about net-metered rate......

The leases were for 45/month for 15 years. $540 a year, $8,100 over 15 years. Those also included a maintenance package which wasn't included if you bought them. Also, when you factor in an interest rate, it's not bad at all.
Some of the leases were. Others were written with no sunset periods or out clauses and people were given systems with far less output than promised. I have dealt with some really respectable solar companies, but the subsidies made for a feeding frenzy of grifters in a lot of cases.

Move to a deregulated state
I wonder how the people of Mexifornia love their deregulated power and gas.

There has to be some kind of infrastructure/competency constraint with Louisiana that is preventing dereg?
The PSC has been bought and paid for, and self-regulation is a hell of a place to be.

Wasn't that more about the wholesale power market, as opposed to the marketing of electricity to the direct consumer?

A tax credit is not the same as a subsidy.

That's fair. But that's not the rule that was passed.
Then lobby to get a better rule.

Perhaps, or go into the battery business. Be creative.

You can’t be serious.
If I cut down a pine tree and mill it into 2x4s, Home Depot would buy it from me at retail?
If you bought 100 2x4's from HD, but then you ended up making 50 of them yourself, would you expect HD to accept a return of 50 2x4's at the price you paid?
