5 of these have been announced in the US since 2018. They’ve gone to Arizona, Texas, and Ohio.

Well, three states out of the way!

Looking forward, LA, potentially, only has 46 other states to compete with. Things are shaping up!

Does Louisiana get overlooked... or does Lousiana get looked at and laughed at?

Economic development hasn’t a priority of the Edwards administration.

Lol you think any major business is going to invest in that state?

Why? The workforce is uneducated and extremely unhealthy

Also the leaders have shown that they'll shut down the entire state at the first sign of a new variant of the Kung flu.

Without New Orleans Port - Mississippi makes so much more sense to invest in. Cheaper land, same people and much better leadership

Y'all keep voting democrat or just not showing up to vote though.....

I'm from Louisiana but once you get out it will disgust you with how absolutely piss poor our leadership is.

Texas is a powerhouse, Alabama is making huge strides, Georgia and Florida have become top 10 states to live in, in the country. Mississippi legalized and installed sports betting before we voted on it, they're looking into trying to do a white sands clear water beach, they're looking into recreational marijuana

What is Louisiana doing? What's the positive outlook? My wife is s doctor and I'm a builder. We got our degrees from lsu. Trained in the state, I built homes in Monroe, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Houma and New Orleans

And because of the pandemic shutdowns my wife didn't get any decent offers so we moved.

I'm not trying to sound arrogant but we're the exact people you need to stay in state and we tried but there literally wasn't opportunity for pediatrician.

Don’t expect this to change anytime soon. We need an actually conservative Governor & to vote out another 20 or so RINOs from the legislature before anything meaningful will change.

This is unfair. No one going to drop that kind of money for a semiconductor plant here for the same reason they wont build a server farm here. Uptime and reliability.

Hurricanes and weather mostly. Cant help the location even if we had 60% of our population with genius level IQs.

Why would anyone want to bring any kind of business here? The first thing you have to do would buy excessive amounts of insurance to cover you when Morris Bart or Get Gordon sues the frick out of you.

Not sure where you're getting this from. Events have been cancelled and rules put in place but there's been no statewide shut downs since 2020.

Louisiana has a long history of trying to screw over corporations looking to locate here. Playing political games to line politicians and local businessmen's pockets at the expense of new businesses looking to invest in our state.

A lot of states do it but Louisiana seems to carry it out to the limit usually sabotaging negotiations.

And it's not one political party, they ALL did it and continue to do it. It's Louisiana politics and corruption at its finest.

Sasol invested almost $13 billion into the state by itself. State government felt economic development was more important in those days and aggressively recruited new investment. They were actually successful with some of their efforts.

Unfortunately right now the only growing businesses in Louisiana seems to be personal injury law and sports betting. That’s what the people clearly want given that they gave JBE a second term. The guy ran off most of the people in LED when he took office. One of them moved to Virginia and helped recruit Amazon’s HQ2 for them.

Bruh we can’t even get a Buccees. If a chain of gas stations isn’t willing to invest in this state, the semiconductor facility isn’t coming.

It’s more how the state reacts to the pandemic than the pandemic itself.

That’s up to the companies anyway… of course some like what DeSantis did for example. Others look at it and say frick him

He's been an awful governor for economic development and jobs which should be the #1 focus in this state right now. But hey, we expanded Medicaid.

But La has the best ambulance chasers in the world. Who needs good paying jobs when we are getting it done?
