Another question for NOLAites.
Didn’t realize that most of the old projects were torn down in the last decade and rebuilt. Saw something online last night.

Kall-ee-oh actually looks pretty nice now. Could I walk through unharmed now?

The objective was to make them look more like townhouses and less like bunkers. Big mistake. The old style housing was indestructible by anything less than explosives. The cute crap they replaced it with won’t be cute in a few years.

Yes they were done in by Katrina and other stuff. Over the last 10 -15 years the "projects" have been run way better and not near the shitholes they were in the past. You have to know/understand how bad it was 20-25 years ago to appreciate what the means.

Supposedly residents were screened better and it was easier to kick out the scum if they didn't live up to their part of the deal. I'm not sure if all that has been true, but it seems things have been much better at those locations for several years.

I can't say I'm confident on what it may look like a few years from now. I'm not saying it will get as bad as Peej's meth trailer park, but it might get that bad.

I'm sure the residents will appreciate the new digs and participate in maintenance and keeping it looking nice
