One of the Assisted Living facilities here in Laffy had 7 positive cases a week ago.

I want to know how many of these tests are false positives. We are doing almost 8,000 tests a day. A lot probably to people with zero symptoms or complaints.
In fact it’s fricking ridiculous that they don’t tell us how many of these tests are screening tests of asymptomatic people. I want to know how many people are coming in with symptoms asking for a test. I know they have the ability but it doesn’t help their narrative.

Because he will then be moved from his room to a strangers room while the stranger gets moved into his room with all of his belongings
He will not be able to leave this very small room
He will not have his recliner
He will not be able to walk up & down the hall
He will not be able to have a telephone which means no communication with anyone for 14 days
If he was showing ANY symptoms then I would be all for it but at this point I think his mental is more important
Plus they only have 9 available rooms for Covid residents unless they start another wing
All the displacing of residents & swapping rooms is helping it spread

I thought he had his own phone ... ??? Tell me that if a resident has their own phone that it won't be taken away???

I saw where Santa Rosa County announced yesterday that they won’t allow rentals from residents of states that have more than 500 cases per 100,000 residents as of May 14, Nevermind a huge portion of our cases are in nursing homes and prisons.

It's ridiculous for real. And get this ... the parish where I LIVE has zero, NADA, NIL cases in the nursing home and the parish where I work ALL have cases except for 1. How did it know to not cross the parish line?? THAT I just can't understand. Unless the homes where I live learned from those in the area where I work?? Still don't know what our people could have done any differently.

We’re now at the point where a Phase 0.5 (restaurants allowed to have outdoor seating) spike would have been seen. The median hypothetical person who caught the COVID when restaurants opened at 25% would be starting to feel it now.

Phones are internet phones through AT&T
It’s like a land line so AT&T would have to come & transfer between rooms, same as if you moved from one apartment to another

The timing isn't exactly 14 days though. You have to seed the virus again, which relaxing the stay at home order will allow to happen.
The virus was probably seeding for near two months under no distancing rules during the first two months of the year. The rules in place have made that seeding a lot more difficult, meaning the spread will slow and the spike will be pushed further out.
I don't think anyone should expect to see a spike 14 days after people allowed to move around. Most people won't catch it on day 1.

Only if it comes back positive
So this whole time & until results come in nothing will change
At this point it really doesn’t make sense unless he is sick

OK so if this ever comes to pass and you can't speak with him, you need to find out who the Ombudsman for the home is and contact them -- families can't be kept from their loved ones. If push comes to shove I'd call the home and ask the Social Services person who the Ombudsman is ... if they don't give you the name/number, ask for the DON or administrator .. and if THAT wouldn't work, I'd seriously call someone at the state level and ask for help.
I pray that it doesn't come to that but have a plan "in case". Is taking him out an option?? I know that we had families inquire but they opted not to due to their own health or the health of others at home that they were taking care of.

I added up availability as per the LDH coronavirus info and it was actually 5,666 beds available (didn't add up icu beds).
