6,582 Active cases based on data provided. Enter assumptions
Recovered data is 4 days old. 14 days from 5/16 is 5/02. New cases: 5/02 - 5/05 = 1,285

931 in Hospitals
4,366 Conservative estimate of cases not in hospitals
Obligatory: The 14 day guidelines are given by ldh and based on when the patient tests positive. The information that we have readily available is when the positive test result is known, not when the test was administered. In addition, the date of the onset of symptoms does not matter either.
If you add the new cases from 5/07 through 5/20 (14 days), you get 4,908 cases. 7,645 cases from 4/30 through 5/20 (21 days).

Actually adding up all available beds across all regions, statewide there are 5666 beds available ... didn't do icu beds.

That in a state with over 4.6M people, there are just over 4,000 people with active cases not in a hospital. We are in Phase 1 to manage less than 0.1% of the State population.
Included in this are the #s in nursing homes, LTC facilities, or prisons; that would not have a major affect on the LA population.

A single nursing home in a neighboring parish of mine accounts for 1/3 of the deaths, and about 17% of total cases. I didn't take the time to add up all homes in that parish but I know that there were other deaths from nursing homes.
