The “government just wants power and control” guy in me says that the numbers will continue to stay low until right around the end of the month. At that time we will see a significant spike easily blamed on Phase I opening, followed by a move to shut things back down.

34,432 active cases
2,425 deaths
22,608 (recovered as of 5/10)
9,399 Active cases based on data provided. Enter assumptions
Recovered data is 7 days old. 14 days from 5/10 is 4/26. New cases: 4/26 - 5/02 = 2,628
6,771 Active cases
1,019 in Hospitals
5,752 Conservative estimate of cases not in hospitals
Obligatory: The 14 day guidelines are given by ldh and based on when the patient tests positive. The information that we have readily available is when the positive test result is known, not when the test was administered. In addition, the date of the onset of symptoms does not matter either.
If you add the new cases from 5/04 through 5/17 (14 days), you get 5,083 cases. 7,662 cases from 4/27 through 5/17 (21 days)

I think we all have those concerns. Hopefully it will be met with some serious skepticism, even by those that don't follow like this board does, because every time we've had a large uptick JBE talks about new tests sites finally coming on-line and the results were weeks old.

I don't see us moving to phase 2 at 14 days. We will stretch out phase 1 as long as the public can handle it.

Pretty sure JBE already said he’s waiting 21 days.
Because he’s a damn idiot

“Old tests” will get dumped at a strategic time to ensure we cannot proceed to phase 2.

Why would JBE be so vocal about old tests if he was trying to manipulate the numbers. Seems the pointing out of old data is him defending opening

Because he knows he’s going to have nursing home & jail positive #’s to fall back on
Plus he is talking about going to test in rural areas & poor areas
Do you think those positives are going to have an asymptomatic *

But he has dismissed the recent uptick as old, there would be no reason to do thst in my opinion

He had to look like he was being transparent before he dropped the 21 days between phases bomb

Under 1000 hospitalizations and under 100 vents by the end of the week.

On the surface I agree with you.
However, I am still quite skeptical. Simply put, I suppose I simply don’t trust Mr. Honor Code.

Only 12 deaths. That is a huge milestone.

So we shut down the whole state for something that has killed 0.05 percent of the population
