I agree with you, but don’t those two categories cover everyone on this board?

This gives the best idea of the situation because we don't know how close to real time the data from each day is.

Yep. Smooths out any reporting delays and avoids massive peaks and valleys because of it.

So trying to get active # of cases.
out of 19,253 cases total , 755 deaths, 2040 hospital
On 4/2 had 9,150 cases total, so
9150 -755 -2054 = 6341 have recovered.
19,253-6341= 12,912 active cases
