For frick’s sake, death threats for touching a seal? Offending a culture for touching a seal?

A mistake was made, they apologized. I seriously doubt they meant any harm. Why is this even a story?

It used to be illegal to deface any picture of the King in Thailand. It was punishable by possible jail time.

While I was there an Australian National, who had been living in Bangkok for 10+ years graffitied a picture of the King. The Thai Police threatened him with life in prison. But the King pardoned him and banned him from living in Thailand forever.

Are you telling me that it’s ok for an Outsider or Foreigner to do it, claim stupidity by saying “My Bad. I didn’t see no sign saying it wasn’t ok.” And just expect to not have any consequences for doing it?

People need to learn the culture of the place they are visiting and respect the way things are done there. Instead they think it’s ok to do whatever they want and have no responsibility for their actions.

Because her dumbass posted it on TikTok Haha that is the distinguishing factor between a dumb, funny story/memory between you and your partner and maybe a few friends and family that you tell the story to, and the psychotic, rabid, unreasonable social media masses that can wreck your fricking life.

Its 2021.. People put their whole lives on social media. I agree that its stupid and don't understand how people truly enjoy themselves when they go places and the whole time they are taking pictures or doing thing just to post on social media, but that's just the world we live in..

People do dumb shite, post it online.. then they get even more attention because it becomes a story,.

Imagine the stupid shite people do, that isn't posted on social media?

So how does this work? Who enforces payment if they don’t go back to Hawaii again?

I think it’s a federal crime. Not a state. It’s just that the residents of Hawaii take it very seriously.

seriously, frick these Twitter warriors. Can you imagine making a post like that about someone who simply touched a seal? These are the same types of people that turned in hiding Jews to the gestapo.

This is Lakyn Spurgeon of Louisiana. She flew to Hi last month & harassed this monk seal. They are endangered and it's a federal crime. She has been reported and is now trying to remove these videos. Please feel free to share. People need to learn to leave the wildlife alone

Monk seals make good gumbo if you leave out the okra.

I guess Chicken needs to approve a Go Fund Me to help them out?

Punishment should fit the crime. Lakyn should be required to sunbathe on the beach and random guys should be able to touch her while hubby works the video. Who knows, maybe a monk or two will be able to participate.
