I'm pretty sure the USYS official stance is "follow your local guidelines". That's definitely the view of US Club Soccer, which is why those clubs around the state are able to go full blast while the LSA clubs will be dribbling only until 2021 it looks like

Nice. You’ll love it. I’ve seen at the very least 200 tournament soccer games for my son. It’s amazing to watch them grow and go through it all.

It was very good for his confidence and humility. No one at school knew he’d scored game winners in the semis and finals in Daphne the day before. Emotional high, physical exhaustion...practice canceled Monday, go be a regular kid. Good stuff.

And that's the problem. USYS needs to come out and modify it's last pronouncement. It was issued at a time when no one really knew what was happening and what this thing did with kids.

Now we know that kids generally don't get it or transmit it. Children under 18 have a 99.94% recovery rate...and that's if they even get it...and those are the cases that are actually found. There have been 4 deaths in LA for kids under 18. That's essentially the same mortality rate as influenza.

LSA adopted a bunch of guidelines that are far more restrictive than even the governor's proclamations. US Club soccer teams are full go with minimal restrictions. They are playing in games and tournaments in neighboring states while LSA and its affiliated clubs are having hissy fits.

With the LSA guidelines preventing LSA-sanctioned clubs from playing, you'll have better luck reaching out to US Club Soccer sanctioned-only clubs from LA to set up friendlies.

MSC is practicing but is not really soccer practice.

It's a joke. One coach said he would be surprised if we play another game before summer 21.

The GSPL is a US Club Soccer league at the NPL level (LA clubs are BRSC, MSC, Fire). The other league we play with BRSC in, they’re the only LA club, is a US Youth Soccer conference.

Just because they want to play State under LSA doesn’t mean they shouldn’t compete in their other obligations.

The club I referee for joined US Club Soccer this fall as the "Big 5" clubs in GA joined last season. The net effect is that Georgia Soccer has, for all intents and purposes, ceased to exist.

So, it looks like we'll have a season this fall. Other interesting thing is that the season start has moved up 3 weeks to August 22 instead of the weekend after Labor Day.

Last team my son got to play, before the Covid, was Augusta Arsenal (06 Gold)...you familiar with that club?

ETA: Looks like the squad my son played against is their best as far as the club goes.

Yes I am. I haven't seen them much as their top teams usually play at a lower level than Rome's top teams.

Looks like the 06 gold is top 5 team in Ga,..but I’m sure there are some U14 teams that don’t even play tournaments that would get you ranked.

In SinC it shows Augusta as 3rd and Rome as 10th, but the top 13 are all gold.

Youth rankings are a bit strange...but it’s showing Rome with gold boys teams at U13, U14, U15, and U17. Thats stout.

Something is going to have to change. These member institutions are taking a big financial hit. I've heard that BRSC is only like 70% what it was last year in registrations for this year. Wait until some of these parents begin to demand refunds when the season gets pushed further and further. It's not sustainable particularly for the smaller clubs.

School soccer usually comes after fall league play, which is being pushed back as we speak (during football season)...our clubs take a break during school soccer. Come back in the spring and they finish the leagues before State, Regionals, and Nationals in the summer. Not sure they’ll get back on schedule this year. We missed the end of league play and any sort of regional play this year...so two years of no top quality competitions...unless they can figure out a schedule.

The interesting question for Louisiana clubs under the LSA umbrella is what happens with GSPL. That's a league under the US Soccer umbrella. Can they participate in that league this fall since it should be up and running?

Seems to me that some of these larger clubs should just say frick LSA for the year and just compete under US club umbrella. I have a kid that plays for fire and also played Louisiana United. They are doing conditioning stuff for Fire but he was full go contact three weeks ago and played a tournament in Dallas under US club. Maybe it’s time for a little pressure is put on LSA to loosen some of these restrictions? With that said, I know very little about how it works.
