The Magnolia Cup is in a couple of weeks in Jackson. I’d expect good turnout considering y’alls situation.

How is everyone enjoying the travel? I was in Texas 2 weeks ago, Mississippi last weekend, Florida this weekend, Mississippi next weekend, Alabama for Labor Day, followed by mississippi again. Nothing past that yet. When I think of the stupidity that we can travel all over the country week after week and cant scrimmage our own club at Our facility it blows my freaking mind.

Also, any reason why LSU‘s Women’s team is able to have a full 11 V 11 purple versus gold scrimmage a couple weeks ago and advertise it all over the website?

First one this weekend in Clinton, just outside of Jackson. I’m hoping the competition is better than it looks on paper.

We’re fielding some new players and my son lost the other center mid to a team in Denmark. He can play that role by himself, and luckily it’s just three games.

Son has football pictures and scrimmage until 10:30, drive to Jackson 3 hours away to play at 1:30, second game at 5:30. QB all day.

Gaston - what happened to the HFC 06 team? I saw that the 07 team basically disbanded. Did they combine with the 06 team. I heard the BRSC 06 team played HFC 06/07 last weekend and it was very ugly.

So the HFC 05 team is very good, they never even fielded an 06 team until last year. My son’s 06 coach was in very good with the HFC club so last year they combined the best players to field an HFC 06 team...mostly because the club had good enough standing to get us in the MidSouth League.

My son missed a couple of weekends with football early in league play, but they started playing well together toward the end. Got second in a big southern tournament in Birmingham and got all sorts of ranking points. Beat a top 10 ‘07 team and drew with a top 50 national squad from Ga. Son shot a 40yd goal on a rope in that one.

Didn’t get to play BRSC black right at the start of Covid...and that put on the fight against relegation. Our coach and his son moved to Denmark so he could play there...so we pretty much lost any reason to field a top league level HFC team.

My son has been invited to to play with the 05 HFC squad, but it’s very competitive and he’s got football until 6. Makes it hard for me to get him an hour and a half away for practice.

There literally is no HFC 06. The transition to birth year made the 05/06 teams wonky at most clubs. Tons of 06 kids just played up with their established squads.

BRSC should have played their 06 against our 06...but they brought the 07s. My son scored twice within 5 minutes of being on the field. One unassisted off the dribble and one free kick, both cracking shots. Those 07s murdered our 06 B team though.

At a tournament in Plano this weekend, several coaches and parents from both BRSC and Shreveport teams seemed to think that if JBE moves to Phase 3, LSA is going to relent and allow full activity including games rather than waiting till a mythical Phase 4. LSA is getting hammered from lots of clubs and parents, and it looks ridiculous to say that the kids cannot practice with contact, much less play a game in the state lines, but it's perfectly fine for 2 LA teams to play each other in TX, MS or AL

Here in NC weve been going for a few weeks and playing games in SC. This weekend tournaments in NC are starting. Just perspective from another region.

Going to be tough to get teams in the LA tournaments now, most teams have the fall schedule.

Which schedule will be promptly revised if there are in state tournaments to attend, but I get your drift. OOS teams will be booked up and not able to attend LA tournaments, most likely. I'd be happy just to be able to play some friendlies in LA. The LSA has already screwed over the finances of their clubs by forcing cancellation of their fall tournaments.

The LA clubs probably didn’t commit to too many OOS tournaments, all things considered.

It would be super nice for GSPL and other leagues. Allows them to host.

IF, and it's a big IF at this point, LHSAA allows high school soccer to start on time, those tournaments will be missing a lot of, if not all, LA U15 and greater teams

Lot of pressure on LSA...clubs are suffering. Attrition is high. Top teams are fine. But clubs are losing their second/third teams. Rec numbers are beyond terrible. And clubs need those rec fees to survive.

Y’all should head down to BSL one evening.

Samurai sushi is good right there on 49.

My boy’ll be in that Foley tournament too.

Our small club is about 100 kids less this fall compared to last fall.

We are planning to start rec games Sept 26 or Oct 3. Our rec dept gives us the okay to play then we will even if LSA says to not play. These kids need to get out and do something.
