I can't fathom the mindset it would take to just murder someone in cold blood. Hell, it's hard for me to sleep at night if I do something as small as lie to someone. RIP.

This. And in this case, not even for much money. I doubt the shooter was able to withdrawal/charge more than a few thousand dollars before the card was cut off.

This is what is horrifying about that culture. Whether from sheer stupidity, lack of concern regarding consequences, or pure evil, this is the type of stuff that makes people buy guns. Store clerk hands someone money, so they shoot him in the face for no fricking reason. Two teenagers are surprised by a guy catching them breaking into his car, so they kill him because they hadn't thought about what to do in such a scenario.
They're too dumb to realize that they'll be caught regardless, and they're poor and dumb and guilty so they'll be convicted regardless.

He didn't win the powerball. The check is dated "11/29/15".

This is why they should allow winners to remain anonymous. It's like the state lottery putting a target on the back of the winners. There are other ways to market your game and winners without divulging names.

Which makes it even worse is the point that he was making. The powerball was fricking >1.5B and there were morons on here claiming that you shouldnt worry about security or fear for you life because everyone would forget who won it after a few days. This dude was killed over less than 500k.
