Found a wallet at the strawberry festival years ago. It has a couple hundred in it. I started to keep it but even being drink I couldn't , just don't have it in me. I walked back over there where I found it at. I seen some guys looking in the ditch... it was one of theirs , army guys on leave... gave me a lot of beer tickets lol

More humorous than interesting.
What amused old contractors in the 80's. My neighbor and I have houses built in mid 80's. He replaced some Sheetrock and in between 2 studs by an outlet he found 8-10 old pull tabs. Apparently at quitting time in 1984 these dudes sat around and killed a 12 pack before heading home.
I did some work on a drain to my master bath bathtub. Saw something in the space between wall and the side of the tub. Old "Filet O' Fish" box. The old pale blue thin styrofoam container. Thankfully he did not leave a bite.

Back when I was in college and working for the city, I was cutting grass at a park. Saw a folded up $20, jumped off the zero turn and grabbed it.

Years ago, when FL had a lottery and LA didn't, I found $1 floating in the Gulf in Pensacola. I bought a lotto ticket with it and didn't win.
Next year, I was in the water talking about playing the lotto again. My wife, who was against wasting money like that, said if I found another dollar in the ocean I could buy one. less than a minute later, a dollar floated by. I bought a lotto ticket, and....didn't win.

In the last year my wife has found both a 3/4 Carat Diamond and a .4 Carat Diamond.
She picked both of them up in parking lots as loose stones on the ground. She's just lucky that way I guess.

Saw but did not pickup (for obvious reasons) at the intersection of 15th and McFarland (one of Tuscaloosa busiest intersections). My wife and I were stopped at the light and she asked me "is that what I think it is laying in the curb"? I leaned over and saw a giant blue strapon dildo laying there.
We laughed and she was going to take a picture but the light changed...

I found a $50 outside a Wal-Mart once. Then went in and a lady had forgotten her wallet so I bought her groceries and kept the change. (she had like $15 worth) She asked for my address to send a check so I gave her a business card. Well it turns out she had money and owned a property management company and has since sent over $7500 of work to my company.
Not bad. Helping people can really pay it forward.

I found a double headed quarter in my change once. I knew it was fake, but hell, how often does that happen, so I threw it up on the shelves behind my desk and it is still there collecting dust next to the other odd shite I've come across over the years.
Found a guy's wallet in East Laville, called information and explained the situation to the lady, she connected me to the out-of-state number (long distance used to be an actual thing - for you younger OT folk), and the guy's mother answered. She was so thankful and I thought the guy might be cool about me finding his wallet - with cash - but the prick didn't even say "thank you" when he met me.

Found $260 in a parking lot. Pretty uneventful.
Best find was ex gf's diamond stud earring.
We were in SBS, CO on a snowboard adventure.
Went to a bar for lunch and she noticed it missing from her ear. She was already pissed off at me for something else that day so this really set her off. We mixed words and after a double whisky, I made her retrace her steps.
I decided to sit down at an outdoor picnic table in the snow where she sat earlier that day. She told me I'd never find it. I was hell bent.
Blind with fury, I stared into the snow around that table and found it half buried.
It was a goddamn miracle, I tell you. All the Gods in heaven had my back that day. I guess they were tired of me getting bitched at.
I was so happy that I went to the top and backside of the mountain where she was not good enough to go and rode alone for the rest of the day.

I've found a couple of wallets, and returned them to the owners.
Found probably 100lbs of weed offshore and probably 20 kilos of Coke offshore. Both were found at different times and both were left where I found them.

My nickname as a child was EagleEye and LuckyLucky because I always find great stuff.
Was weeding the garden at my house and found an antique ruby ring. (Never could find the owner although I tried)
On New Years day I found $100 bill blowing across a parking lot.
As a teacher I would sell pretty pencils to kids for less than the cost so they would get 2-3 pencils for a quarter and just put the quarter in the jar. I never opened it till well after the year was over. In the jar was a solid gold coin worth about $200. I sold it and used the money to buy stuff for my new class.
I found a solid gold necklace back in the 80's that "Carvernetiqua"(in that custom script type) on it. Never could find Carvernetiqua so after a few years I sold it for over $100.
I am always finding valuable stuff for some reason and always try to return it if i can. If not, I take the proceeds from it and invest it into a good deed.
