Like many here have said, and I know it hurts to hear, but he either already is or is actively trying to bone your ex. Stuff like that is off limits for me. If you try to get with my ex, I'm cutting you out. I'd expect one of my boys to do the same to me if I tried with one of theirs. That's Bro Code 101.

Also, the fact that he just chooses to actively ignore your texts makes him a huge douche if what y'all had was really so special.

If it were me, I'd say good riddance.

Sounds like it should be him that comes to you for a reconciliation. He sounds like a shallow prick that didn’t value the friendship to the same degree as you did. Forgiving him for being a douche doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be friends going forward. I would cut ties with the loser and make other friends.

If he is acting like you say, sounds like there were probably other warning signs that you missed prior to this development. Seems like this may be a good thing. Become a better judge of character. Not being sarcastic, but there are always fricked up people out there trying to use someone for something.

Tell him you want to meet with him at your local Sonic to hash things out over a Blue Coconut Slush then beat his arse.

lost a best friend of 12 years back in 2016. he was my roommate and things went south due to drugs. He was letting his gf's nasty german shepherd stay at the house, random people were crashing at my condo (while he wasnt there), etc. I told him to leave.

haven't talked to him since then. ill get urges to reach out to him, but then I read the texts he sent me when I booted him and elect not to

Look man, it happens. The older you get the less friends you have ( for most people). Just wait until you get married one day. As for your friend, he has either had sex with your ex, wants to have sex with your ex, or is in love with her. Either way you need to cut bait.

This is what this board was used for back in the day.

This is pretty sad as I was best friends with the guy for the better part of 5 years.

Friends come and go especially with relationships. I'm married with kids. I have plenty of friends, but most people we hang out with have kids that are close in age to ours. I still keep up with some of my good, old friends, but rarely see them.

I should've clarified - he's not fricking her, she has a new boyfriend.

She's fricking around man, with the new bf and with your former friend.

Suck it up, it's obvious he likes the Ex & that friend base more than he likes you.

not sure if this has already been said. But guys dont tell their friends they are done being friends. You just let it go. If I had a friend that sent me that shite, i'd be making fun of him to my actual close friends.

Things happen, people drift apart. Guy frienships should be easy and devoid of drama with each other. I leave that to the girls.

Nah. This "friend" of his is just a beta orbiter hoping that if he hangs around long enough she'll give in. He's not getting any.

Are you a 12 year old girl? Is there a check yes or no box here?

Seriously, if someone isn’t interested in seeing how you’re doing and won’t give you a second of his time, he’s not worth it or a friend anymore. People and friendships change and that’s ok. Find someone worthy of you and your friendship. I ended a 15 year friendship, and it was very difficult too but for the best.

Friends choose sides during splits. He chose her’s. Lost most of my so called friends when I got divorced. Move on. Friends are overrated.
