Flea-borne typhus is on the rise in LA. How does it spread? Human feces in the streets attract rats which carry the disease, which host infected fleas that hop on your dogs and cats that give it to you.

I knew SF had problems with shite everywhere but not LA too. I guess LA’s homeless are just more concentrated on Skid Row than diffused throughout the city like in SW.

Roughly 18 seconds of googling shows me that California averages about 200 cases a year, and Texas had 500+ last year
