Don't understand the need to make decisions so far in advance.

Well all the elitist actors and musicians in Hollywood have been begging everyone just stay in doors like they have been doing inside of their million dollar mansions.

This should please them all. fricking idiots.

Bill Maher is unwatchable without an audience cued up to laugh.

If no fans, your ability to use college stadiums and such expands greatly. Just need a good field and sufficient infrastructure for a tv crew.

That is crazy. The people there voted for people with those type of views so good for them.

It would be so weird to watch a game with nobody in the stands.

You have far too little faith in the authoritarian impulses of the people you live near.

Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home orders will “with all certainty” be extended for the next three months, county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer acknowledged during a Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday.

To be fair, beaches are reopening soon.

To be totally fair that was working through all the phases reopening in 3 months. That’s a bit less crazy than a full stay at home that long.

Why am I not surprised? Thank God I don't live in Los Angeles anymore. I was supposed to go this year, I guess not!

If you read the article what it says doesn't appear to be all that different than what many govenors/mayor, including here in Louisiana, are saying.

quote:

Los Angeles County last week loosened some stay-at-home rules, reopening some trails and allowing some retail stores to begin curbside services with social distancing. But Ferrer warned Tuesday that further loosening of the rules will be slow.

Ferrer said that would only change if there was a “dramatic change to the virus and tools at hand.”

“Our hope is that by using the data, we’d be able to slowly lift restrictions over the next three months,” she said. But without widely available therapeutic testing for the coronavirus or rapid at-home tests that would allow people to test themselves daily, it seems unlikely that restrictions would be completely eased.

It doesn't appear a complete "stay at home" order will be extended through July. It's that they don't expect to have all of the restrictions go away by that time.

I'd imagine the same rings true for us in our LA. We just found out yesterday that the first real "easing" of restrictions will start Friday, and those restrictions are expected to remain in place until at least June 1. The question now is to what degree does the government continue to ease those restrictions after June 1? I doubt we (at least in LA) will be fully back to normal by Aug. 1st. Our "leaders" have more power over the populace right now than maybe they've ever had before (at least in our lifetimes) and I don't see them giving it up so easily
